"Deja...do you think you can stop listening and obsessing over One Direction and actually study with me like you told your mom you would?" I asked looking over at Deja.
She was laying on my couch, bobbing her head to One Direction's music. She apparantly couldn't hear me because she continued as if my voice was air.
"Deja!" I groaned as I walked up to her and pulled out her ear plugs.
She looked up at me. "Hey! What was that for?" she asked.
"Are you gonna study with me or not?" I asked pointing at my opened workbook.
"Fine...I'm sorry." She placed her iPod on my coffee table and walked over to where I was studying.
"Girls...are you two okay? I can hear Jasmine screaming from all the way up in my room," mom said.
I sighed. "Yeah, mom...we're alright now."
"Alright."
Mom walked back up to her room after grabbing an apple from the table Deja and I were studying at.
"Deja, I'm sorry but you know I can't fail the 12th grade, I'm too excited to have freedom." Deja smiled.
"Jas...don't worry, I'm sorry. I should've been more considerate knowing how you feel about being free."
I smiled.
"Thanks...now, come on. Even though you don't show it, I know you're excited to go to 12th grade, as well," I smiled.
Deja chuckled and opened her book.
We studied the rest of the night. Call me a dork but I want to start my life already. I wanna go around the world and see crazy things!
***
It was Saturday morning. I woke up with my head flat on my workbook. I rose my head up, still drowsy. I noticed Deja was asleep on her workbook, too. I shook her arm but she didn't respond. I shook it harder.
"Huh? Wha-What's wrong?" She asked holding her arms in guard position.
I giggled.
"Wake up, you dumbo."
She groaned. I stretched then got up. I walked over to the TV and turned it on. I turned it to the news channel and guess who was on it? One Direction.
"Deja," I sang. "Guess who's on TV?" I asked whilst smiling and cocking an eyebrow.
"My mom?" she asked still sleepy.
I giggled then looked at her with furrowed eyebrows.
"Why would your mom be on-- forget it. Nope, it's not your mom...it's...ONE DIRECTION!" I said loudly and pretending to fangirl.
She instantly got up and ran straight to the TV. She snatched the remote from my hand and screamed. My mom walked downstairs whilst scratching her head.
"Deja, calm down, hon," mom said.
"She's a fangirl, mom...I don't think they know what 'calm' is," I said following my mom into the kitchen.
Mom laughed.
"Well, she better find out because she's about to get it from me," mom said.
I giggled.
"Honey, you don't like those boys...um, One Direction?" she asked.
I shook my head vigourisly.
"Nope!" I sang freely and undoubtingly.
"Why not?" mom asked turning the stove on.
"Because...they're so unreal. Like they actually fall for girls like Deja and I."
Mom looked at me.
"Why not?" she asked whilst laughing a little.
"Mom...they're surrounded by models and stuff, why pick a normal girl over a model? It's just not something a boy would do," I replied shrugging.
I got on top of the counter.
"Honey, you're not a monkey! Get off of the kitchen counter," mom said smacking my thigh with her spatula.
"Ow! No...I like sitting on the counter," I said smiling cheekily.
"Anyway, honey, you don't know...there's always a gentleman around," mom said.
"Well...when I see one, mom," I said.
"What if One Direction are gentlemen?" she asked looking at me with a smirk.
"Mom...please, they're celebrities...they can get girls way better than Deja and I," I said giving her a what-now look.
"Hon, please..."
"Mom, please...you're the one who told me boys are filthy pigs," I said.
"Stop thinking all guys are like your father! They're not, Jasmine! They're not!" mom said exploding.
I didn't know what to say. It was true...my father made me see all guys as filthy pigs. He left my mom with a child, how could I not think another guy would do that? They do it everyday. What are the odds I'm one of those girls? I got off the counter and walked to Deja.
"Deja! Get off our coffee table! That's for...well, impression but that doesn't matter! Get off!" I said.
"No, they're singing and it's so sexy!" she said dancing on the coffee table.
"Deja, you look like a pole dancer, get down."
She got down then looked at me poker-faced.
"I'm gonna go get showered and dressed," I said walking away.
"I'll go after you," Deja said then focused on the TV again.
"You brought extra clothes?" I asked turning to face Deja.
"No...but I know my best friend wouldn't let me walk around naked," Deja said with a smirk.
I groaned whilst rolling my eyes.
"Ugh, you're such a--"
"Go shower!" mom screamed.
Deja laughed.

Hey guys! So, tell me what you think in the comments below! :)
P.S. Can anyone tell me how to change subtitles? This is actually suppose to be called "Deja, Get Off the Table!" but if I did that, it would also change the complete title...so, yeah. Sorry, I'm new to Wattpad. :) Thanks, loves. Xx
I dedicate this story to xlovehurtsx because she gave me the courage and motivation to write/start this story! Thank you :) Lots of love Xx -Tabi
