He gripped her wrist tighter with each step. She picked up her pace and began to run. He jerked her back and she stopped abruptly.

"Don't run. Then they'll know. Get in the phone booth." He pushed her into the booth roughly. She slammed against the plastic wall and he smashed into her. She cried out in pain as his elbow crashed into her abdomen. He glanced over at her and kissed her cheek quickly.

"Sorry." He mumbled and picked up the phone. She let her mind work as he pretended to talk on the phone. She saw the four guys walking down the street. They were about to catch sight of the two of them. She grabbed his shoulders and turned him towards her. He looked at her sternly and kept the phone to his ear. She smiled sweetly and hooked her arms around his neck.

"What are you doing?" He asked suspiciously.

"They're going to see us. Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable. So I need you to kiss me." She hissed, but kept her face sweet. In case they saw her. He smiled flirtatiously, catching on.

"Alright."

He brought his lips down on hers gently. She fell into him like always. Her heart began to pound in her chest. She wondered if she would ever stop feeling this way about him. He squeezed his arms around her waist and she jumped up, wrapping her legs around his hips. He pressed her back against the wall of the booth and she murmured softly. He pulled away slightly and brushed his lips against hers. Her eyes began to flutter open, and just as he placed his lips back on hers. She smiled slightly and readjusted herself closer to him. Suddenly he dropped her and pulled his lips off hers abruptly. She caught herself clumsily and looked at her feet. She felt embarrassed.

"Lets go." He whispered and opened the door to the phone booth. She followed him quickly and awkwardly. He had broken away from her so easily. He used to be so attached to her. Now it was like he was a stranger. Only what was necessary.

They hopped on a bus and just rode till the end of the line. She kept her eyes on the four guys at the end of the bus. The men had just barely got on the bus with them. He sat next her silently. She wanted to talk to him, but everything felt so formal. She slowly took his hand and held it limply. He didn't even acknowledge her. She felt tears sting her eyes. Ever since V died, he was different. They all were, that was to be expected. But he had changed so much. At first he was devastated, but soon he had just become detached. Lost to her. He was just not there. He didn't seem interested anymore. In love with her anymore. She pulled her hand out of his and played with the gold pendant around her neck. She didn't notice his eyes on her. He was so distant. She didn't know what he felt anymore. He didn't have the vicious look in his eyes, it was just this cold, hard, lifeless look. It might be even worse. She wanted her home back. She pushed back the tears and took a deep breath.

She didn't want him to worry.
