It's been a few weeks since the piles of work and stress was handed down to us. I fall asleep in half my class time to time do to staying up late doing work, but Ike keeps waking me up and usually let's me have a sip of his coffee. At first I found sharing coffee with my best friend was odd, but quickly for used to it, since we now normally share everything. Food, drinks, games, hats, and very rarely hoodies.
Doing all the work was worth it though. We were just aloud to have a few days off to relax. Which means more time with Ike, and hopefully meeting new people. Hopefully.
Unfortunately it was raining our first day off, so I stayed in sweat pants, batman t-shirt, and ridiculous blue bunny slippers, and curled myself in a blanket to read. Ike sat on his bed and watched videos on his phone, he thinks reading is a waste of relaxing time. I would occasionally look over at him and try to make out his face that was being covered with his hair while he looked down at his phone. I smiled, he was beautiful sometimes. I quickly stopped admiring him when he looked over at me, I turned my head to my window and blushed.
Did- did he see me looking at me? I turned my head again and saw him standing there looking at me. "H-hey. What's u-" a crack of thunder and lighting when across the sky. I was used to these sounds, but Ike didn't seem okay. His legs trembled and his hands were shaking. Seeing he was having some sort of panic attack, I lead out of my bed and hugged him. "It's fine Ike.. It's just lighting..." I did my best to calm him down, which probably didn't help in the siltiest. I pulled away from him and rested my hands on his shoulders. "Ike look at me!" I said looking at his deep brown eyes. "You're going to be okay, just focus on me okay?" He nodded. "A-alright.." I lead him over to my bed and grabbed the earbuds off my desk, and plopped them into his ears. "It's just lighting and thunder you'll be okay, listen to this alright." He once again nodded and I played a band called My Chemical Romance for him. I then sat next to him and small circles on his back with my finger, like my mother did to me when I panicked.
Before I knew it Ike's breathing calmed down and he took off the earbuds. "Sorry you had to see that.." he looked down at his hands. "It's fine, you want to talk about it or...?" Hw hesitated but then nodded. "I just been terrified of thunder since I was little, and my family didn't help me with it, they kind of just made it worse so..." His voice trailed off. I kind of understood what he meant, my dad was...abuse to my mother and I when I was still a toddler. "It's fine, I'm here to help you and I'll care for you no matter what." Ike smiled, but was still looking down at his now fiddling hands. "C-can I sit in your bed tonight...? J-just till the thunder s-st-stops?" My ears began to heat up, and the words in my mouth didn't want to fork correctly. "Yw- ye... Yeah." Ike leaned his head on my shoulder and handed one of the earbuds to me as he put the other one in, he pressed played and we just sat there. Laying in the same bed, listening to music, while our light source from the window began to darken more from the clouds.
