it was close to the end of the day and i have been waiting for luke for quite some time now. i started to think he wasn't going to show. i heard the bell above the door ding and my head shot up quickly.

"why so sad looking?" luke gave me one of his boyish smiles as he walked towards me. i stood up to meet him half way.

"i honestly didn't think you would have shown." i shrugged lazily and laughed off my almost hurt feelings.

"katie, i am very hurt. you think i'd ditch you?" i nodded and he just shook his head at me.

"well be happy because i'm here and i did not ditch you," i half smiled at him, "now where do you wanna go?" he asked as he snaked his arm around me to pull me into his side.

"it's like 9:30, lucas." i looked down at my phone to check the time.

"hm, pretty and smart." he winked at me, playfully.

"but no seriously anything you want you name it." he told me.

"well, maybe we can go to a fair they're having in town. it should still be opened." i suggested, but then realized that it was a stupid idea because of the face he made.

"what kind of cliché shit are you pulling here?" he laughed out his words.

"okay so change of plans we're going where i say we're going because you are no fun." my mouth dropped open and we finally started to head out the door as we were still trying to figure out what to do.

"excuse me, i am too fun!" i whacked his chest with the back of my hand.

"alright then prove it to me." he challenged me.

"okay well then, i hope you're ready to get your clothes wet." i gave him a look before i started walking off out onto the sidewalk hoping he'd follow me. if he doesn't then that's gonna ruin the whole badass vibe. dammit, please follow me.

"wait what do you mean?" he jogged his way up to me and i noticed how close he was getting to my side because i felt his hand brush against mine and my body got all tingly and ew.

"you'll just see. you think i'm no fun so i'll show you fun." i said as i was walking towards a water fountain in the middle of a small plaza.

"this is it? you're taking me to a plaza? yep, you proved yourself katie. you're soooo fun!" i heard that smartass sarcasm in his voice but i let him continue for a while.
"plus you said we were gettin our clothes we-" before he could finish i pushed him backwards into the fountain and just started laughing historically. just the way his lanky body fell in almost brought me to my knees.

"gonna get our clothes what luke?" i started to laugh up a storm again before i felt his hand grab onto my arm and i let out a screech.

"wet.." he smirked at me before my head reached the surface. i hadn't realized this fountain was so deep. it was like a pool and it's dangerous.

i rolled my eyes at him and splashed him before i started swimming to the middle so i could rest on the statue. i started shivering and felt my teeth chattering. i looked at luke who's lips started to turn purple already knowing he was cold.

"m-maybe this wasn't a g-good idea. w-we're both freezing and your l-lips are turning purple already." i said as i brought my knees to my chest. luke got closer to me but that only made me colder because his clothes were still drenched.

"they are?" he brought his hand up to the side of my cheek and forced me to look at him, "is my lips ring still there because i honestly can't feel my lips?" i looked down at his lips and that's when i knew. that smooth little shit.
he started to lean in and suddenly i wasn't feeling so cold anymore. i was staring at his lips the whole time he was getting closer and closer. i closed my eyes and just barely, so so damn close, his lips brushed against mine and that's when he jerked away when a bright light was flashed onto us. luke instantly shielded his eyes from the light and all i did was squint.

"what the hell?" luke said loudly not realizing that it was the police.

"sir, ma'am i'm gonna have to ask you to remove yourselves from the fountain please." the man said as he held his hand out. we both started swimming towards him so he could help us out. his partner was running towards us with blankets and as soon as we got out she wrapped us in them.

"you do realize this is against our city law right?" he asked the both of us. before i could even answer luke piped up.

"yes, sir, we are very sorry it's just my fr-... my girlfriend and i were on a date and we started playing around, which i know was immature of us to do, but she accidentally pushed me in and i started to drown so she dove in to get me. but, sir, i'm very sorry about that and i can promise you it'd never happen again." i looked at him the whole time after he said girlfriend. i wasn't paying attention to anyone else except him. he called me his girlfriend. and he lied to a cop!

"that's quite alright i understand that you young people can get a bit out of hand plus you both seem like a well kept couple that's out of trouble. just this once i'll let you go. now you guys go and take care of yourselves." he tilted his hat as a 'goodbye' and i waved bye to him.

"you two have a lovely night." the woman commented and began following her partner back to their car.
i glared at luke for the longest time and i'm sure he noticed because he never once looked at me. i swung my fist up and hit him in the chest.

"lucas are you kidding me!? your girlfriend!? you drowning!? i cannot believe you just lied to a cop!" i yelled at him. he rested hid hands on my shoulders at looked at me.

"hey i know i know that was bad but did you really wanna sit in jail for a day? i've seen people in there, i've visited people in there and trust me katie you don't wanna even be there for just two minutes.

"i mean but i just..." i let out a heavy sigh and looked up at him, "so girlfriend huh?" i smiled and started laughing.
he instantly let go of my arms and rolled his eyes walking away from me. i started to giggle now and gripped onto the blanket tighter so it wouldn't fall off as i chased after him.

"heyyyy luke waait!" i yelled for him and he turned around with an embarrassed look on his face.

"no katie i don't wanna talk about it it's embarrassing." his cheeks began to redden.

"i know it was, i can see it in your cheeks." i let out another laugh as he hid his blush.

"listen, you're a pretty girl and i mean why nit make up a story where a very pretty girl is my girlfriend y'know?" he stammered over his words a bit causing even me to blush.
i walked closer to luke until my chest touched his. i saw a mist of fog leave his lips before i leaned up to press my lips softly against his ice cold lips. i felt his hands slowly snake their way around my waist, over the fabric of the blanket. i started to pull away and slowly looked up at him.

"take me on another 'date' and maybe i can consider about this girlfriend thing.." i said quietly as i was staring at his lips. he nodded his head speechless.

i did it. i kissed luke. i wanted to. i'm so glad i did. his lips were soo soft and woah. lucas.
