It was midnight and security coast guard John is on patrol at Point Nepean. He has his radio, revolver pistol and his coat. He walked into Fort Nepean to check it out when he saw a mysterious figure inside. He tried to chase the person but he was nowhere to be seen. Then John stumbled into something. He shines his torch onto the ground and he was shocked. There was a dead body on the ground with blood around it.
He immediately gets out his radio and calls in backup. Within ten minutes, the police rushed into their cars to Fort Nepean. The area was closed off by police tape and road-blocks. Officer James came out of his car and followed John to the body. When he saw it, he instantly said “Call in the homicide squad.”
The homicide squad came and rushed into the crime scene with their equipment. They took photos, examined the area and the body. After they looked at the body, they called in Doctor Max to give them an Autopsy of the body. Dr Max said “He was killed around about midnight; his cause of death is a bullet into his heart. Also there are bruises and grazes in his arms and ribs. This means he had a struggle with someone before he was shot down.” The police wrote down all pieces of information and sent it back to headquarters.
At headquarters, the investigators went through the evidence and they called in Head Detective Josh Baker to take over the case. He went through all the things they found on the scene. The things that were found were a revolver, footprints and a piece of clothing ripped off from a coat. After reading this, he wanted to investigate the crimescene himself. When he arrived he saw a man with Officer James.
He asked James “Who is this man?”
And James said “He is a witness that saw what happened.”
Josh took this man back to the police station for questioning. At the police station he asked what his name was and the man said” My name is Luke.”
Then Josh asked Luke: “Tell me what you saw.”
Luke said “Well, I was weather chasing at Point Nepean when I heard a gunshot. I quickly went to where the gun shot sounded from. I arrived at Fort Nepean when I saw a man inside.”
“What did this man look like and what did he do?” asked Josh.
Luke said “He looked like a coast guard and he had a radio. He wore a waterproof coat of some sort. I saw him drop his gun and run off. I was really scared so I ran back to my car and hit in it.”
After the interview, Josh told Officer James to escort Luke back home. Josh went to the crime scene again and looked carefully at everything he could see. Then when he was scanning the walls he saw blood. He immediately used a cotton bud and scraped some of the blood and took it back to the police station and they examined it for DNA. The results came out in an hour and they found out it belongs to Security Coast Guard John Marson. After Josh read this he sent out an order to arrest John Marson. The police went out and in half an hour John was taken to the police station for questioning.
In the interviewing room John just kept saying “I am innocent” and “I didn’t do it.” Also John kept on repeating over and over again what he did that day. Detective Josh looked into John’s eyes and saw that he wasn’t lying. Josh really wanted to find the truth so he went back to the crime scene and tried to recreate what happened. He arrives at Fort Nepean and started to recreate the scene. He thought: “Where would the man go after he shot someone dead? Then he walked around and saw an escape route. “Ahh,” Josh thought, “This is where the man escaped from.”
He scanned the area for anything unusual. Then Josh sees something on the ground, it was a broken off antennae. He closed his eyes and thought in his head “Who can this belong to? Then something struck him, He said “this antennae must belong to Luke!”
He quickly took out his phone and called back to the police station. Josh said that they need to search Luke’s house for his weather tracking device. The police rushed to Luke’s house and held up a search warrant to search his house. After a 45 minute search, the police couldn’t find anything. Then Officer James saw Luke’s rubbish bins and he thought “That right, he might have wanted to dispose the weather tracker.” Officer James opened the lid of the rubbish bin and found the weather tracker with its antennae broken. James took the weather tracker out and went up to Luke and handcuffed him and said “We are placing you under arrest for the murder of Kenny Jones and for giving a false statement to the police, you have the right to remain silent but anything you say may be recorded down and used as evidence against you in court.”
Luke was taken back to the police station for questioning. Luke didn’t say anything in the interviewing room. So Detective Josh came in and took over the interview and he said “Luke, if you admit that you murdered Kenny, we will try to lessen your punishment. But if you don’t co-operate with us, we can’t do anything to help you. All the evidence now points at you being the murderer, if you don’t admit the punishment would be more severe then you admitting.”
After hearing that Luke started to cry and said “I killed that guy because he was the guy who killed my family. He was never charged and the police just said the car crash was an accident. But I couldn’t believe it so I had to take matters into my own hands. I hired an undercover private detective to find out what Coast Guard john wears, takes and that gun he uses so I could make John look like the culprit. But sadly I was not careful and broke a piece of antennae. It is really heart breaking to see my family die in his hands so I had to kill him.”
“I know it is hard for you, but that doesn’t mean you could go out and kill someone.” said Josh
And Luke relied “I know I was wrong, I am willing to admit I murdered Kenny and I will take any punishment.”
After the interview, Luke was taken to custody and is awaiting his trial. The only mystery that is left is that the police couldn’t find the private detective. He just vanished. The police are still trying to find the mysterious unknown private detective.
