Adrianna's POV

"Call me when you get done." My grandma, a short, older woman with black and white hair nags for the millionth time today.

    "Okay." I sigh and try not to have an attitude with it.

    "Adrianna! Don't give me an attitude!" My grandma scolds.

As I walk into the local book store, I hope that they would have the book I would want. The young, yet assertive woman behind the counter directed me to the Teen Romance section of the store. When I got to that section, I see two dashing boys. One of them is tall, wearing all black and is acting extremely rude. While the other one was a few inches shorter, wears glasses with a almost shaved head but he seems nice but I would date any of those two if I had the chance. I was getting the book I wanted and was going to buy the book and leave until...

"Hey you, girl with the book in her hands!"

Kevin's POV

I froze as she turns around in confusion. I was lost for words on how alluring she looks. "It looks like you're going to read the same book I am. By the way, my name is Kevin and you must be beautiful."

"My name is Adrianna, not beautiful."

"Same thing, here's my number." I say foolishly as my younger brother, Sam looks at me like i'm crazy. I frantically grab the same book as her and nervously walk up to her. "We should meet up sometime."

"Okay." She said timidly.

Adrianna's POV

After I get out of the store, I put the book in my purse and I put his name with plenty of emojis in my contacts. As I get in my grandmother's dark gray car, I wonder about the type of person Kevin is and if he'll ever love me as much as I love him.

Kevin's POV

She was perfect, not just in the way she looks but in the way she speaks. I hope I get to see her again.

Sam looks at me and says, "Is she the one and let's go before mom gets worried."

"I hope so and okay." I sigh hoping she'll eventually like me back. "But I need to get to know her first." Me and Sam look at each other and leave the store after I buy the book.

  Adrianna's POV 

When I got home, I hasten to my room trying to wrap my head around on what had just happened minutes ago. I decide to text my close friend, Audrey about it and sent me a disappointing text that read, "Don't get your hopes up for a ruthless boy."

I look at the text in frustration, then look around the empty and broken home. Will anyone love me with scars all over my body? Maybe I should read the book.

I picked up the book in despair and decided to read the book hoping it will get my mind off of things.  As I was getting sucked in, I was screaming but nobody heard me.

Kevin's POV

"Did you see those Scars? She must've had a rough past, so she's not good enough for you." Sam said with disgust in his eyes.

"Shut up; she seems like a nice girl, I'm going to my room to read."

Finally some time to relax. Away from my annoying brother.

I picked up the book hoping it was going to be good, considering it was a romance book. I felt like a tornado as I got sucked into the book. There was a familiar face down the page.

"Adrianna."

Adrianna's POV

"Kevin, you're in here too?"

"Yeah" He says in panic. "How long are we going to be in here?"

"Hopefully not long."

"I never thought I would be close to you this way." He mumbles.

What if I never see my family and friends again? I know my life ain't perfect but I want to go back to my normal life.

Kevin's POV

I can't wait for my brother to hear about this.

When me and Adrianna were walking through the story, frantically trying to get out, I started to fall in love with her. I want to tell her how I feel but she might not like me like that.

Adrianna's POV

"Wow Kevin, I can't believe how close as friends we are becoming and it's all because of this."

"I know." Kevin says. "I wonder how much longer we're going to be in this."

I have had a crush on him since I first met him but I don't want to admit it.

Kevin's POV

Me and Adrianna walk and live for the moment. A few feet ahead, we start to feel ourselves come back into reality. We hug tight just in case we don't come back to our normal lives. We come back to reality, still hugging in the bookstore we first met.

My brother and an older lady are relieved to see the both of us.

"Kevin, I was looking for you." My brother says in shock.

"Adrianna, I'm happy you're still alive." The older lady says in joy.

Adrianna's POV

"I'm happy to be back."

"Where were you?" My grandma wonders.

"You won't believe this, but, me and my new friend, Kevin got stuck in the book that we got the other day."

"I don't believe it." My grandma says as Sam rolls his eyes.

"Let's go home and get some rest." My grandma says in a comforting tone.

"Come on Kevin, we need to catch up on what happened." Sam whispers.

*A few days later*

Kevin's POV

Today is the day I ask her out. I hope she says yes.

I walked to Adrianna's house in a tuxedo and a rose.

"Baby we'll be perfect together so will you go out with me?'

"Yes" Adrianna says with tears of excitement run down her face.
