Chapter 4- The First Secret

London's POV

"This is London, she is new, obviously, and Izzy" Trevor says, as he points to Izzy and adds "says you already know her."

"She does, nice to meet you London, I'm Xander" He says with a smile. He looks at me for a minute before quickly looking away.

"Alright, it looks like we need to redo chair tryouts, to make it fair. I know that this will only be inside the section, and not official anywhere else, but I want to know where I stand. I don't go since I'm section leader, and we can't change that even in our section, because I'm official." Xander says, at the last part he puffs out his chest. I laugh along with Izzy, but Trevor and Dawn groan. "We can go in any order, so" He pauses. Dawn shoots her hand into the air. "Dawn goes first then." Xander adds, to his last statement. I don't think I'm going to do too well, but I'm going to try my best. Dawn was done play, so I raise my hand it get it over with. I play a scale and all the music I memorized. After I was done I sighed internally. Trevor went next and Izzy said she never played before. We all waited a little while, for Xander to decide the new order. The new order is Xander, Trevor, Me, Dawn, and then Izzy.

  Band went by pretty fast and before I knew it I was at the bus stop with Xander. To be honest, something was off about him, but I shrugged it off. We stood in silence, till the buses came. I tried to run and get out of the pushing and shoving to get on the bus, but it was no use. " Here, stay behind me." Xander said. I did as he said and soon enough I was on the bus. I saw Xander sit in the back and decided to sit with him. Seeing as I didn't know anyone else. "I have a long bus ride, just to let you know." Xander said.

"That's ok. I do too."

    Neither of us said anything for a while, which was ok with me. I was thinking about when the next full moon was and how it's going to be hard keeping a secret if I have actual friends. "How was your first day?" Said a voice bringing me out of my thoughts.

    "It was ok. I was late getting to first period, and then my math teacher, Mr.Green, made me introduce myself. It was so embarrassing. Then in second period, we got to talk for about 10 minutes, because the teacher was done talking, and the 'popular' people tried to talk to me. The rest of the day was a normal day. Band was my favorite period though." I ramble on. In return he tells me about his day.

  "How many years have you been section leader?" I ask

"This is my first."

"Nice, How many years have you played mellophone?"

"Since 5th grade." he responded.

We talk more about band till we get to my house. I get off the bus and run to the front door. I can't wait to get in my bed. I walk inside and see my brother is asleep on the couch. I have the best idea. I grab a flashlight and a pillow. I walk quietly over to my sleeping brother. Aw, he looks so peaceful, but not for long. I turn the flashlight on and shine it in the face while yelling "THE TRAIN IS COMING." Then I hit him with the pillow, in the face. He jumps up and falls off the couch. I then start laughing. "I'm so going to get you for that." He says as he gets off the floor. Oh, crap. I run to my room locking the door. Then I continue my laughter. I quickly change into jean short shorts and a black tank. I jump on my bed and grab the book I've been reading, "City of Bones", I'm rereading the series. I read for an hour or so, before I decide to check the calendar for the next full moon. I unlock my door and go out into the kitchen where it is. I realize that the next full moon is in a week. I look at the clock and it's almost 5:30. I guess I'd been reading longer than I thought. "I'm home, and I brought pizza." Someone calls from the door. "Pizza!" I exclaim. I love pizza. My mother brings it into the kitchen, but before I can grab a slice she tells me to get my brother. "JAMES, PIZZA" I yell, then smile at my mother. "There you go, got him."

"I didn't say yell I said go get him." she scolds. I just shrug and grab a couple pieces.On my way out I pass James. I walk back into my room and continue to read while I eat my pizza. When I check the clock it's 9:30 and I decide to go to bed.

I'm standing in the band room with Xander. "Hey, Xander" I say

"London?" He says.

"Yeah"

"So you... you are something else?" He says questionably.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You're not human." He states.

"What are you talking about?" I ask, starting to panic.

"Don't play stupid with me." He takes a step closer. I try to back up but there's a wall behind me. He continues to walk towards me looking at me like he's trying to find something different about me. "So..what are you?" He says once he's right in front of me.

    I open my mouth to answer but I wake up to my alarm. I jump right up and sigh in relief. I wasn't ready to tell him.
