i.              Knowing

She tosses her hair to the side, flipping the shiny strands in a way so elegant that he found himself staring intently; he knows that the action is a mere ploy to distract him, but he keeps his gaze locked on hers knowing that it makes her uncomfortable, unsure, and he doesn’t know why he finds an indescribable amount of joy watching her squirm in her seat like a girl sitting primly in front of her first date.

But it is also a wonder how she could make herself look like she doesn’t care, although he knows – it’s hard not to when he got her figured out even before she thinks of doing something. It’s in moments like this that he doesn’t really know whether to treat the fact as a curse or a gift.

He could see the twinkle in her eyes when his gaze catches hers, the slight twitch of her lips when he all but stares at the patch of soft skin that goes all the way down to the lovely curve of her neck, before letting his eyes move to further inspect the softness of her skin by staring, and staring some more. He knows this could get him into trouble if he’s not careful, but since he knows that it wouldn’t, he guesses it doesn’t matter if he acts like a complete asshole once in a while just for the heck of it.

He licks his lips when his eyes catches the subtle movement on her throat when she swallowed, catching the almost faint sound of whimper when he slowly lets his gaze shift from her neck to her nose. It almost made him want to stop what he’s doing and jumps straight into taking her lovely face in between his hands, and kiss those oh-so-temptingly-plump lips with abandon.

He watches as her perfectly manicured fingers shuffles the cards, promptly looking up and waiting, the anticipation of what’s to come brings indescribable sensation curling around his thighs. He hears another faint whimper-like sound escapes her lips at the same time she reaches down to grab another card from the pile resting in front of them, and Ohno finds himself distracted yet again at how perfectly she maneuvers the cards around like she owns them – like she knows her game and that she knows she’s going to win it.

And Ohno wishes for one moment that she could, too, because he wouldn’t want to see the impending disappointment overlap the light in her eyes, wouldn’t want to take away the obviously nervous but gorgeous smile stretched across her pretty, pretty lips even if it meant losing here in the end.

He couldn’t even if he wants to -- he would though, if it makes things easier, but just the thought of not being able to do what he’s here to do simply take away his interest to act noble, even for once.

There were days when Ohno wishes to wake up without knowing exactly what’s in store for him that day, but today isn’t one of those. Today, like most days, Ohno is glad that he has the gift of looking into the future, enough to see that he’s about to spend the rest of this day with her.

“Your turn,” Ohno hears her voice, sweet and melodic, prompting him to make the move; he wants to tell her to be patient, to please let him enjoy watching her for a bit since he already knows what will happen after this – at least he wants to do something that isn’t part of what he knows would be, if he can.

He lets a soft smile breaks at the corners of his mouth, watches the color of her eyes change when she blinks; he finds it fascinating, the way her lips would curl at the edges when he would meet her gaze at the exact moment she stares up to check him out, and blushing prettily when he tips her a playful wink in return.

“Impatient, aren’t we?” he muses, flashing another of his megawatt smile and giggling to himself when the simplest thing as that made her blush as she scowls back.
