I took one step into the giant manor and stood in awe. The young lady who had adopted me grinned as a man in a tuxedo grabbed my bags and took them somewhere upstairs, my new room perhaps. I was stood in a wide open area, on chocolate bamboo floor that was polished so beautifully, I could see my reflection. There were staircases on either side of the manor, where a balcony stretched until it branched into a hallway before continuing to curl around the backside of the mansion, until it was met. The ceiling had colorful broken glass that fit like a puzzle. A thin, delicate chandelier hung from the stained glass.

I started to walk into the house when I saw the young lady wince.

"Please dear, would you take your shoes off?" She whispered elegantly, folding her small hands. I nodded carelessly, kicking off my converse.

"So, by your expression, you like it, right?" I nodded again before she spoke, "well I'm glad! Let me show you around." She showed me the entertainment room, the kitchen, and the dining hall, which were all in the back of the manor. The lady then led my up one of the staircases and through the hallway. In the hallway, there were little storage rooms and a family tree of photographs spread throughout the wall. We took the curved balcony around to the other staircase and hallway. In that hallway, there were rooms for the children, which then led to me seeing my new room. It was huge and luxurious, with it's own bathroom and walk-in closet.

"Well, I'll let you settle in dear. Robin, right?" She questioned.

"Yes." I responded, biting my lip and glancing around the room.

"If you need anything, I'll be in the dining hall." She smiled warmly, waiting for my response. But when she didn't get one, she simply walked out. I picked up one of my bags and unzipped it to find clothes. I looked around the room until I spotted the walk-in closet. I took a shirt and made my way towards the closet.

"It's only for your gowns Miss Robin." Someone spoke up. I jumped, startled. A younger girl—about 12 years old—stood at the doorway. She had curly locks of black hair and bright, piercing blue eyes. She was slim and pale, and wore a small, pale pink dress. A thin silver tiara rested on her head.

"Gowns? I don't have any gow—"

"Of coarse not silly! You're from the America!" She giggled, her British accent creeping into her voice. "There is a wardrobe over there." She pointed to the back corner. "Oh, and what are you wearing?" She studied me carefully as I started to put my clothes away.

"I-It's skinny j-jeans and a sweater c-crop to-top and a beanie." I was confused. I never stuttered. I was always confident, but when I was around this little girl, I was somehow nervous I would do something stupid. I pulled my beanie down, it hung low.

"Here! Follow me Miss Robin—Oh dear! Where are my manners?" She curtsied, "I'm Isabel." She smiled taking my hand and leading me to the walk-in closet. "That outfit is not ladylike. It must've been hard for mum to look at you in the limousine." She spat nicely. That offended me. She swung the doors open to reveal a tiny room full of colorful dresses. She examined a few dresses, scanning my body as she did so.

"This is the one." She showed a bright blue dress. It had a sweetheart neckline adorned with crystals. It was tight until the waist, where it bloomed and flowed down to my ankles. I didn't like it at all. It was far too fancy for me. I shook my head violently.

"Oh please!" She cried, "it would make me so happy! I picked this one out myself!" She shoved it into my arms and left me in the closet. I put the dress on. I took one look in the mirror and I was astonished. The fitting dress showed off my curves. But even though it looked great on me, I still didn't like it. I walked out into the room to find Isabel sitting on the bed, the bed curtain drawn back. When she saw me she gasped.

"Miss Robin! You look absolutely gorgeous!" She squealed. She rose from the bed, coming to stand in front of me. She smoothed out the dress. Is this what people in Europe were like? All elegant and sweet?

This was going to be hard...

The day went on in a blur. I met many other children.

I met Adalynn, a bubbly blonde. A 14 year old with long straight blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

Skye, a cheerful, graceful girl. She is 8 years old and has a twin named Salem. She has short curly black hair and same goes for her twin.

Connor, a mischievous handsome 15 year old. He has short, slicked back blonde hair.

And Connor's friend, Ashton. He is 15 and daring.

I walked down the stairs in my regular clothes. Me and the other kids walked into the kitchen were I smelt something good. I sat down in a seat and looked at the bowl of soup that sat in front of me. Along with the soup were peas, corn, and a biscuit. I immediately dug in. Not the usual food I typically ate, but it will do.

After dinner, I let everyone walk to their rooms before grabbing Isabel's arm and pulling her into mine. She yelped before taking her arm back.

"You changed your dress, why?" She smiled.

"Why do I have to wear a dress? Why do you and all the ladies wear dresses and tiaras? And all the boys why tassels and stuff. You are so elegant and sweet and rich, why?" I blurted, then immediately regretted it. She gasped, her hand resting on her breast.

"Why must you say awful things? It is because we are the royal family. I am princess Isabel. You are princess Robin." Princess? Royal family? Someone like me was not made for dresses and tiaras and heels.

"Princess Isabel. Princess Robin. It is time for bed. It is past your curfew." The nanny spoke.

"I must go. Goodnight Princess Robin." Isabel curtsied before walking to her room. This was all happening to fast. I was going to be a princess! But how? I guess I'm gonna have to learn how.
