“Silent! Everyone!” A tremendous roar arose from the throat of strong, deep female voice. Silence engulfed the room in an instant. I silently thanked her for saving my ass.
‘Oops, Miss Tiger is here,’ Jess said to me telepathically as she shot me a glance.
Most vampires could send telepathic messages to their own kind, which can be very handy sometimes whereas other times it’s irritating. I looked at Jess with a curious expression, ‘Miss tiger? Is that a real last name?’
She slapped her forehead and closed her eyes, ‘No! What I meant was, don’t anger her! Or else, you will be dead meat. She’s usually friendly, so no worries.’
A girl with soft curly mocha colored hair, which fell halfway down her back, came towards me. Her brown eyes shined with curiosity as she asked, “You are Eve Smith?”
“Yes,” I replied coolly. She was nothing like what Jess had said. In reality, she was small, cute, and delicate, but the aura around her gave me a different impression. The aura showed that she was more powerful than normal vampires. I could feel it wasn’t an Evil aura; it was strong but in a good way.
I could feel the aura. I could sense it. It took quite a long time to train myself to do so. It wasn’t a popular skill among vampires, as they thought that it was useless. But to me, learning one more thing was better than not learning anything. Since we lived for eternity, why should we waste our time slacking around, clubbing here and there instead of making ourselves stronger? Who cares if it was useless now, it might become useful in the future.
Even though she was strong, I doubt if she could kill me in a battle. In fact no one could hurt me in a battle. I may sound like an arrogant jerk, but I was telling the truth. I was Lightning Eve; I had the speed that no one else had. Vampires were a lot faster than humans; they ran so fast that a human couldn’t see them with the naked eye but in the vampire world, like humans, different vampires had different talents. And speed was one of mine.
Miss Tiger, or whatever her name was, put on a warm smile and said, “Welcome to Ellis Academy! I know you are the popular Lighting Eve who everyone admires, but in this school, you are a student, Eve Smith. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.”
What the hell was wrong with her? I wasn’t the one who caused this stupid chaos! It was those idiots, who heard ‘Lighting Eve’ and started to act like they saw a celebrity. Of course, I didn’t say that out loud. I’m not a fool. I faked a smile and replied, “I totally understand Miss Avery, and I’m sorry for causing you all this trouble.” I forced those words out of my mouth, resisting the urge to slap her. Urgh, Why am I the one who’s apologizing when I didn’t do anything wrong? Jess sensed the fire in my head and spoke telepathically to me, ‘Cool down Eve! You’re going to melt the room!’ I could see her trying to hide her laughter behind her face again. I shot her a glare. Such a great friend, I thought sarcastically.
Miss Avery nodded lightly and ordered “Everyone back to your original position! You can get her autograph later on, but not during my lesson.”
Oh god, my fist was so itchy, I felt like punching her. I gritted my teeth to control my anger.
Everyone in class went back to their original positions and continued their training. I sent a telepathic message to Jess, ‘I want to get out of here now!’
‘How?’ Jess kept on attacking her partner without looking in my direction.
‘Do you have a pen or knife?’ I asked, looking around the room for any small weapon. I only found the green pixie haired girl looking at me with her glassy eyes. “Yes?” I furrowed my brow.
