"What's it going to be Lara? Him, or us?" Lara couldn't see anyone's faces, just their shadows. She heard only voices. Who were they all? Who was she choosing between? There was no telling where she was in the first place with the surrounding darkness almost merging with the many shadows surrounding her.
"Lara" a soft male voice came from her right, the opposite side from the first cold voice. An open hand reached out from the shadows. The hands skin tone was the first burst of colour Lara saw in the sea of darkness. This was the choice. Those people didn't seem that friendly, in fact they seemed anything but. This man or boy or whoever he was stretched his hand closer to her. If that isn't a friendly gesture there wasn't any in this situation. Lara grasped tightly onto his hand and he instantly began walking away from the shadows behind them.
"Lara!" someone called out from the group behind her. She turned to look but it was pitch black.
"forget about her, she's made her choice." the older man who had questioned her practically spat the words. Lara heard the venom in his words.
The guy who had a tight hold of her hand continued to walk, it was debatable whether he even heard the other voices..
"where are we go-" She started to ask but the question was answered before Lara even had the chance to ask it. An open hand isn't always the friendliest choice. Especially when not even a minute later they prove you wrong. Shadowy figures, many of them in black suits, surrounded her and her hand was dropped by the person who she had trusted. She reached for it a few times but it was gone along with her trust in him.
"Lara, they can help you." he yelled to her above the noise of her own protest but she wasn't willing enough to listen.
"let me go!" Lara screamed until you could hear the strain in her voice at the loud volume."Elias! Turner!"
Then her eyes snapped open and her head shot up off the desk. If It was any faster she could have gotten whip lash. The ruler that smacked her desk making a loud noise was what had woken her. Lara wasn't too happy about that but the man on the other end looked 10 times less pleased. Maybe school wasn't the best place to take a nap.
"miss O'neil." his impatient tone showed just how annoyed he was for the second time this month. "Is there an excuse this time or should we just skip to me giving you a detention." Mr Walker, the balding English teacher inquired. Shed done it again. Unbelievable, she fell asleep in class again. It's those dreams. What do they even mean? They won't let her get a proper nights sleep. They're just like that song you love but no matter how much you try or how tired you are it won't get out of you're head so you can get to sleep. So maybe it's not quite like that but man does it feel close. They mean something. More than just any other ordinary dream or nightmare. They have to mean something
Last night it woke her up at two am. Two in the morning. For those of you that didn't know that's really early and to wake up at that time when you've got school hours later is not fun. It explains the little nap mid lesson. Well, that and the fact she doesn't care or want to know about anything Romeo and Juliet related. At least that might be what they were learning, Lara didn't actually listen to that part either- too busy counting sheep. This whole sleeping in classes has been going on for a while but this is the first one that's given names. Elias and Turner. If only that helped but sadly they are completely useless. Lara couldn't think of anyone by those name that shed ever known.
"like you can blame her." someone scoffed from the back of the class. Jt. I wish I could tell you what Jt stands for but even though he went to school with Lara for years they haven't actually talked. He's not really the type of guy you would invite for Sunday dinner with the parents or invite to much for that matter. Today is one of those rare occasions that he's actually bothered to show up to class and grace the school with his presence. whoopee, right?
