It was a masquerade party. Shelly from the accounts department handled me my mask. I signed the entry register and went to the restroom to wear my mask.I was a beautiful black mask with black feathers and black beads and it covered only my eyes. I texted alex.

Reached the club safely.love you..muahha..

I left the rest room and joined the party.

*Ping* got reply from Alex.

The lightening was very dim so it was difficult to recognise my fellow co workers.

"Penny,Is it you."said a familiar voice in Navy blue corset dress.she was wearing a silver mask with black motifs and unlike mine; her face was partially covered by her mask. She removed her mask.It was my buddy, Daphne from the HR department.

"Oh My God....you look amazing". I said.

Daphne had a history of bad relationship.I wanted her to move on.Currently she was dating the new guy from R&D Department,Damien. I had met him on his first day at office, he was so strange. I had seen him staring at me during lunch breaks and coffee breaks in the cafeteria. When Daphne said he had asked her out for dinner last week I didn't had the heart to tell her about his starring stint and was happy for her.

"Ooo..where is Damien?...I feel he is going to get lucky tonight. "I teased.

"I broke up with him.he was very strange."she frowned.I held her hands."I think penny he has a crush on you."she said avoiding my eyes.

" Dee, what the hell are you talking about?"

"I am sorry penny...I should have told you earlier.I think the only reason he asked me out to get information about you.I didn't realize it earlier but during dinner when I reviled that you have a boyfriend he got really angry and left me in middle of the dinner. Can you belive it. "
I was shocked.

"Please stay away from him, penny".

I just nodded.I finally asked" where he is right now?"

"I haven't seen from after that disastrous dinner. Rachel from the R&D Department told me he had gone from some quality control convention and will be back next week. "She said." By the way,where is Alex?. "

" Just one word... Boys-Night-out" i frowned.

"Oh so sad he dumped you for his fellows but don't worry we will drink and eat up our sorrows "she laughed.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You grab the cocktail drinks and i will bring the finger food and meet me at that table in 5 minutes. "She pointed to the table at the end of the hall.I waited for Daphne with couple of screwdrivers.I send a text to Alex.
Having drinks with Daphne ...i miss you...wish you were here.love you..muahha...

she came with big tray of goodies.she dumped bowls of French fries,Chicken nuggets and scotch eggs.All my favourites. We were buzzed after couple of drinks.we were laughing and giggling like crazy.

A tall dark haired man came near our table. He was wearing a blue mask.he removed the mask. It was Kelvin new intern at my QC department. He had joined few weeks back for his college internship.

"Hi Daphne. ..Can I have a dance with you?" He was 17 way to young for Daphne.

"Sure let's go. "I eyed her" Chill penny...it's just one dance will be right back "I smiled. I checked my phone still no reply from Alex. I stuffed my mouth with chicken nuggets and watched them dance.

I saw a tall figure standing at the door. He came towards my table. He was wearing a black satin mask which covered his entire face.when he came near me I instantly recognized the marron shirt which I had brought for Alex to match my maroon dress.

He changed his mind.he came for me.I knew. I just knew Alex would come for me.I smiled.

He gestured me for a dance.I held his hand he took me to the dance floor.I didn't wanted to dance, i just hugged Alex.I was so happy that he dumped his friends and he came back for me.he kissed my forehead and hugged me tightly. I tried to wave towards Daphne but alex started to pull me away from the dance floor. I tried to protest but he kept a finger on my lips.I thought maybe he wants to spend some alone time with me.once we reached outside Alex gestured me to stay and he went back to the parking lot to get his car.

I miss you too.I am so sorry for today but I promise I will make up for today's thing. Love you always. Muahha.

I got confused. Maybe it was delivered late but when I checked the time.it was just few minutes back.
