I sit next to her waiting for the parade, we share a blanket and I know that my one big mistake was paying attention to her beautiful smile and let myself be carried by what her eyes hold, but I don't regret anything . I stand slowly as I feel my phone vibrate, she was already sleeping in my arms and I didn't had to explain. The message said the exact car I had to place the GPS, microphone and the bomb , a car parked here in this street, I walk getting unnoticed by the people sleeping or the couples that are to busy with each other . I pass by the truck that had the bag hidden , I get it and finish my job . The bomb will be activated as soon as the car is useless for us.
I walk back and buy a flower from an old lady on my way, a white tulip , her favorite . She is awake and waiting for me. I surprise her from the back and she lets a out a little scream and then laughs .
-"where have you been?" she says rising an eyebrow.
-"getting this " I say and hold the tulip to her , she looks at it as if it were a diamond , and looks at me like if I put the stars in the sky , every time she does that I feel bad deep inside because I'm not more than a liar . A big one and I know I have my reasons to do it ... but I know she doesn't deserve this.
-"thank you , thank you , I love it" she says and holds me in her arms , feels like home, like where I belong and then she kisses me and suddenly I forget about everything, the car, the bomb, the flower and the liar I'm. -"but I love you more " she says after the kiss. For me it isn't easy to say it as it looks it's for her, I haven't say it , not exactly. Every person I love dies. It may seem stupid but I feel that saying it out loud will make her the next.
