Chapter 3 Universal Point of View

"Pheobe! Max! We need to talk to you." Barb said. Cleaning up the last of the cake crumbs from the table.

"If this is about babies I already know what you are going to say." She said turning off her phone as Max walked out from his lair.

"You might want to sit down." Hank said.

"Whats going on?" She asked sitting down along with Max.

"You both know that you have both turned 17." Hank said. "That means Pheobe your not aloud to date boys."

"Yes!" Max exclaimed mentally cheering in his head. His mother shot him a glare. Unlike Max, Phoebe was beyond upset they had no reason to do this. Yes she was a bit careless when it came to hiding her powers around them but that was not enough of a reason.

"What! Dad that's completely unfair! Does mum agree with this?!" She exclaimed standing up. "What about Max! Does he get to date?! This is completely unfair! What did I do?!"

"Pheobe sit down we have something we need to tell you." Barb said gesturing for her to remain seated this time. "16 years ago your father was on a mission to destroy the seven deadly sins."

"What does this have to do with us?" Max said.

"It has everything thing to do with you. So as I was saying your father killed all of the children except 1. Thana. The last Thana we found was in Mertoburge but it was the wrong Thana. That's another reason we moved. Mayhem cursed you that on your 17 birthday you wouldn't be able to love a human or start a family with one." She explained.

"How do we break the curse." Phoebe said her emotions running wild. Confusion, hate, anxiety, fear, shock.

"Max needs to find Thana and get her to love him. Only she can break the curse. So you both can have children and so Max doesn't lose everything, and fall into eternal darkness." Hank said.

"What do you mean cursed. Like Sleeping Beauty kind of curse? Don't those need dark magic and all the witches and wizards where killed in the dark ages?" Questions spewed out of Phoebe like an over boiling pot.

"Yes it's a curse just not a Sleeping Beauty curse. All witches and wizards where killed during the dark ages. But some magicians where smart and gave up there children to mortals. So they could be taken care of as normal humans." Barb answered attempting to calm down her frantic daughter.

"What do you mean by not being able to love? I love Cole as much as I love you guys!" She exclaimed.

"The curse states that you can't truly love a human with all your heart. There will always be a wall, a deep void stopping you from loving somebody 100%." Hank said.

"What about the not having children or families?" She questioned. Phoebe wanted nothing more than to fall in love with somebody who loved her and to have a family of her own. She wanted to watch her own children grow up and do great things in life. Her dreams where crumbling with each answer she got. Like a kick to the teeth she suffered through.

Barb sighed. "This means no matter how hard you try to get pregnant you won't be able to conceive a child. I don't know if it's just a magic stopping you or if he did something else."

"Well there's a Thana at our school but shes a human. No powers whatsoever. How can she break a curse?" Phoebe said stating the truth to everybody. "True loves kiss isn't a real thing."

"We're not sure yet all we know right now is Max has to get Thana to fall in love with him. Max are you okay?" She asked glancing over where Max was, only to find an empty seat.

"Max buddy you okay." Colloso asked peering out of his cage where Max lay face down.

"No." He moaned into the pillow. His parents just dropped a bomb saying that his entire life was a lie. Well most of it anyways. "My life is a lie!"

"They finally dropped the bomb on you?" He asked. Max's head shot up.

"You knew about this?! And you didn't tell me a thing?!" He exclaimed his poster straightening to a sitting position.

"You parents swore me to secrecy! I didn't know what to do! Your father threatened me to throw me across the world if I told a soul! I'm sorry Max." He said his voice softening.

"Why where we cursed. People don't just curse people for people for no reason. This person must of had something against mum and dad to do this!" He exclaimed.

"Yes there is a story behind this curse. A long and bloody one, and it's not mine to tell." He said shaking his furry head. "What did your parents tell you anyways?" He inquired cocking his head to the side.

"That Pheobe and I where cursed by some random dude, and that I would fall into eternal darkness. Which wouldn't be to bad in my chronicle." He said.

"Max. It is bad it would mean you would become a monster with no mind, and supes would have to put you in jail! You'd never see the light of day again." Colloso said genuinely worried about Max. He knew the full extent of this curse, he was there when it all happened.

"All I have to do is get Thana to fall for me and break the curse." Max said a plan concocting in his head.

"Not that easy Max you have to get her to show you her powers. And she has to know how to break this curse. She has to trust you. It's a lot of effort." He said.

"Urrgh! Why world! Why?!" He yelled flopping back down on the bed. How many more days did he had left, how would he spend the his last few months, weeks, or even days as a normal person. It could go both ways. He could get Adri to fall in love with him and break the curse. But at the same time she might not even know her powers or the curse. Everything was all too complicated all he wanted to do was close his eyes and when he awoke everything would be alright.

"MAX!" Phoebe yelled storming down to his lair.

"What." He groaned pulling the pillow over his face, he had enough to deal with already a moody sister was not something that needed to be added on that list.

"I need you to get Thana to fall in love with you!" She exclaimed taking the pillow from him.

"Hey!"

"You better or I will make sure you go to Heroes U." She said storming out of the room.

"Why are sisters so annoying?" Max groaned falling back in the confines of his bed sheets.
