How can a man with so many hidden scars and broken dreams
Whose heart is being held together by tape and safety pins
Fight against a darkness so powerful
While one arm holds a sword, the other holds his brother
He is the only thing keeping his brother from falling
Falling into the very heart of the darkness
A rock in the middle of storm
The knot in the middle of the tug-of-war
But even mountains move when the earth shakes
The man who gave up family for security
Security for love
And when the love was lost
Threw himself into a war
A war he was a pawn in
A puppet to be sacrificed
He fought against all odds and won
He sacrificed all to save others
This time is different
There is no one left
And allies forged in battle
Could put the very sword in your back that kills you
Why does he keep fighting
Because he has heart?
A heart held together by tape and safety pins
But the tape stretches and the pins shift with each betrayal
Although I guess if you asked nicely
He would give away even those
