It was the perfect summer day; the kind you wait all year for.

If only I'd known.

I couldn't stay trapped inside the four walls closing in on me, not on such a perfect day.

If only I'd known.

So there I was oblivious to the heartbreak awaiting me at the pond.

If only I'd known.

In my imagination, in my head, in my fairytale world, I truly belived that my day at the pond feeding the wildlife would be pituresque.

If only I'd known.

So there we were, just me and you. Laughing, running, and of course taking too many pictured so that our every moment of this perfect day would be documented.

If only I'd known.

But those pictures, those memory's are now forever lost beneath the murky waters of that pond.

If only I'd known.

It was the last time we would ever be together.

If only I'd known.

I watched as you slipped away.

Slipped out of my hand.

Out of my reach forever.

Below the depths of the murky water.

If only I'd known.

Now the days go by so slowly.

But I still feel you.

The shape of your soft curves is stuck on my hands.

Almost as if the ghost of you won't let me go.

I awake from my dreams gasping in memory of you.

Yes I still dream of you.

Night time terrors take me by suprise, and my own mind becomes my enemy as it reminds me of you, and tricks me into believing I've found you again.

If only I'd known that that was the last day I'd ever have you I would have stayed home.

If only I'd known that you would slip away, I would not have taken that last picture.

If only I'd know that you would be gone forever I would have taken a differnt phone with me.

If only I'd known I would have stayed home and never gone to the pond.

But now I don't even have our memories.

All those times you were with me.

Sharing in my joy.

My iPhone.

If only I'd known.

But now the regreat is too great,

The realization too late.

I wish I could have had a chance to tell you, but I thought you knew.

You didn't have to leave me this way.

If only you knew.

I never wanted the 4g.

You will forever be my 3g.
