OK, so I know that like 98% of this book has been about RotG but this theory is a real game changer so I'm not that sorry at all. (·___·)
So what if Jack didn't have a choice whether he lived or died?
You guys: What do you mean? He didn't have a choice and if he did, he chose die.
OK, first of all, I'm not letting you guys have speaking privileges any more because you're contradicting what I'm trying to say so shut up! And secondly, that's not what I meant. What I'm trying to ask is what if the Man in Moon made Jack drown?
You guys: (0o0) WHAT?!?!
YES! I'm here to tell you that the Man in Moon is not what he seems. He's actually a total dick!
You guys: but he's not! He resurrected Jackson Overland to make Jack Frost so he could be a Guardian and defeat Pitch.
Yeah that's true, but that wouldn't have happened if Jack hadn't died. The Man in Moon needed Jack to die and wait 300 years so he become a Guardian so they could defeat Pitch once and for all. But other than that, M.I.M. didn't need Jack Frost for anything else so why did he resurrect him way before he even needed him? Jack was Jack Frost for 300 freaking years and only after that he was chosen to be a Guardian, which makes no freaking sense! If M.I.M. needed him so bad why not make him a Guardian right after he was resurrected? And why didn't M.I.M. tell Jack about where he could find his lost memories or better yet why not tell him he had lost memories in the first place? Jack always thought that his only identity was Jack Frost and that he never had a life before that until, just out of coincidence, Tooth told him about the power of baby teeth. Which happened 300 years AFTER Jack Frost was born! How fucked up is that?!
You guys: whoa. That is fucked up.
I know, right?! So my theory is that M.I.M. made Jack drown in the pond so he could make him Jack Frost. And the evidence is all in the movie.
1. We clearly see that Jack fell in the pond through a large crack in the ice and was unable to swim back up. But that doesn't really fit with his character.
a) Jack is strong, strong enough to pull his sister away from falling, to climb trees, and other things so it's safe to say he's strong enough to pull himself up out of the pond.
b) He's stubborn and persistent, like how he never gave up on finding Pitch, even though he knew it wasn't the best idea. Which means he wouldn't give up on getting out the pond so easily so he could be with his sister.
2. I know that water must have been freezing cold and if someone was in there too long, they would get hypothermia, but Jack clearly wasn't. He fell in and was in there a few minutes, which is only long enough to react to the sudden situation and start trying to get out of there. But he didn't do that. All he had time to do was react before he went unconscious and drowned. I don't think that's normal.
So what I'm trying to say is that the Man in the Moon isn't totally the good guy. Yes, he did choose all the other Guardians, but what about Pitch? Where did he come from? Did a unknown dark force create him or was he always there? Or maybe M.I.M. created him just like the other Guardians so they would always have an enemy. I mean Pitch does call the Man in the Moon his "old friend" so maybe he was good, but turned evil. AndI read an article that said that the other Guardians didn't die to become one like Jack, so why would M.I.M. make Jackson Overland into Jack Frost in the first place? There were PLENTY of worthy candidates, who weren't dead, out there who would have made a great Jack Frost, maybe even better than the one we have now. But for some shitty reason M.I.M. choose a dead Jack who had to wait 300 years to become a Guardian and find his true purpose. That doesn't make sense!
So to sum it all up, the Man in the Moon doesn't deserve all the credit you guys are giving him. He's a total dick that only does what's convenient for him, not for other people. Sorry to burst you guy's bubble :/
So what do you guys think? I hope you guys agree with what I'm saying, but if not put your arguing statement in the comments. I love hearing from you guys. Live long and prosper. BYE!
