Lottie's POV
Secretly I was thrilled that Joe and I shared the same feelings for each other.

As me and Zoe pulled into the car park I directed her towards the shops.

"Tonight's going to be great, I can't wait for you to meet everyone and" she paused " maybe spend some time with Joe?"

I blushed. " It's not going to be awkward is it?" I could feel myself becoming redder. "Maybe I should just give tonight a miss."

She turned towards me. "What? No! Please come. I'll stay with you the whole time and if you want to leave, you're only a few steps from your own house."she looked hopeful.
"Ok" I agreed but I still felt unsure about that night.

At waitrose we bought a few drinks but nothing much. It was just nice to share a girly chat. Around 11:30 we sat down at a table at Starbucks and spoke some more about the night.

"Well I'm not too sure if Jim and Tanya are but I know Louise, Caspar, gabby, Louis, Marcus, Alfie, Dan and Phil are definitely coming." I nodded, with no clue who these people actually were.

"Listen the thing about Joe is.." I listened as she begun her sentence. "Well, I guess he just..." But she was distracted by the sound of her phone.

"Can I take this?" She asked before stepping away. I sat alone and thought. What if he doesn't like me? What if I'm a loner tonight? What if..?

"Alfie says he can't make it" her eyes filled with tears. "Well I guess I'll have to come then. Otherwise what will you do?" I guess tonight could be fun. Hopefully.

Zoe's POV
It was 12:45 and I still hadn't checked on Joe to ask if he had tidied up.

When me and Lottie had finally finished talking, we headed back to my car. The last thing I needed was to be late. I knew everyone was coming at 5 but I still had so much to do.

The city was busy and crowded as we drove home. Traffic caught us at every corner. I could feel the tension rising.

" so, how many boyfriends before?" This totally came out wrong.

"I guess, none actually." my heart sank. "You're not setting me up with Joe are you?" I tried not to laugh. "Seriously though, would you be interested?" There was silence. But we both burst out laughing. I guess I'll never get an answer.
