Chapter 12

Rainbowpaw was in the medicine cats den, her first day as an apprentice and she had already gotten injured. "You'll live. It's not broken, just wrenched." He placed a paw on her shoulder, then on her leg. "Here." He said giving her a stick. "This might hurt." With quick movements he snapped her shoulder back in place. Rainbowpaw let out a little whimper. Gorsefoot began to chew up comfrey and then rubbed the poltice on her shoulder. "Stay off it for a couple of days." He said. She reluctantly slumped into the medicine cat nest. The den shivered as smokeypaw cloudstar, and snowface emerged. Staring at cloudstar and snowface she could see the resemblance in the siblings. They both had a snowy white pelt as well as yellow flecks in their eyes, even though cloudstar's eyes were amber, and snowface's eyes were an icy blue. Cloudstar lay beside her and sniffed her injuries. "will she be ok in a few days?" Cloudstar touched his tail to rainbowpaw' shoulder. "I would hate for her to fall behind in her training." Gorsefoot stepped out of the herb store. "She should be  within a few days. As long as she stays off if it!" He said staring at her. Snowface licked her head. "Next time we will steer clear of snake rocks!" She purred. Smokeypaw a mouth opened as if to speak, but moonbreeze bursted through the entrance. "Oh Rainbowpaw! Are you ok?" She began to sniff and lick her kit. "Yes, I am fine." She said through clenched teeth as Gorsefoot put a bit of pressure on her shoulder. "Stop!" Pleaded moonbreeze, "your hurting her!" Gorsefoot sighed. "I just wanted to see where it hurt so she would know where to be careful." Cloudstar brought his tail over her shoulder and pulled her back. Then licked her cheek. She took one last glance at Rainbowpaw then padded out with cloudstar. "Wow." Smokeypaw padded over to Rainbowpaw. "They act like you are a warrior from star clan!" Rainbowpaw shifted her shoulder uncomfortably. Gorsefoot nudged smokeypaw towards the exit. "See ya!" Shouted smokeykit.
