I walk into Spanish expecting to see Mary sitting there but I'm greeted by an empty chair. Wonder where she is? She'll probably be a bit late.
"Ok calmense necesito tomar asistencia."
(translation: ok calm down I need to take attendance.) Mr. O says as he takes attendance.
I raise my hand. "Mr. O uhm....Mary.....no esta." I say hoping I said that she wasn't here correctly.
"Ya vi. Per gracias Calum." He says and starts his lectures. Mary never showed up so I decided to text her.
Hey Mary, where you at? I'm so lost and I need your help. Text me asap.

Lunch came around and we all sat at our usual table. Ashton is leaving right after school and its just gonna be weird not having him around for those few days. I can only imagine how hard it'll be for Mikey.
"So Ash, how long are you gonna be gone?" Michael asks
"Just a few days. I'll be back by Monday, I promise."
"Alright just make sure you tell her we all said happy birthday." Luke says
"I will mate. I'll miss you guys but its only for a few days so it's no big deal." He says
"Yeah but just be safe man. I heard a lot of people have gotten into accidents. Pretty minor ones but still, take care." I say
"I will. Don't worry about me guys, I'll be back before you know it."
"Be safe baby, okay? Come back soon." I hear Mikey say to Ash in a soft tone.
"I will. Don't worry, its all gonna be fine." He says and gives Michael a kiss in the cheek. Michael flushes from the gesture but scoots closer to Ashton.
My phone buzzes. Expecting a reply from Mary, I decide to check it only its a number I don't know calling me. I answer.
"Hello?" I say
"Hi, is this Calum Hood?" A lady says on the other line.
"Yo Calum, pass the weed dude!" Luke says and the boys start laughing. They start acting childish so I step away.
"Yes it is. Can I ask who's calling?"
"This is Amber from Los Angeles Community Hospital. I'm sorry to be the one to inform you but, your mother and sister seem to have been in a pretty severe car accident."
