“So, any latest story about you and Ryan?” Monique asked me the following day.
“He asked me yesterday if I was free,” I shrug.
“And?”
“And, I said I’m not free.”
“Who’s not free?” Alex sat beside me with her paper bag at the table beside her yogurt drink.
“Ryan here, ask our BFF if she’s free today,” Monique answered.
“So?” She took a sip of her drink.
“And I said I’m not free,” I end the discussion.
I saw Cris waving; I waved back and signaled them to sit with us. When I look at Alex, who sat beside Monique, who sat across of me, gave me the deadliest among the deadliest stares ever.
“What?” I said two hands up.
She just shook her head and looks down, when Cris sat in front of her, which is beside me and Eric, his best friend sat beside Monique.
“Hey, guys!” I greeted at the two guys when none of them greeted one another.
“Hey,” Eric greeted me with his mouthful.
“Eww,” Monique murmured.
After that nobody talked except for the noise inside the cafeteria. As I look at the table, Monique and Eric are checking out at Monique’s phone while Cris and Alex keep on looking at one another. When one saw that the other one was looking at him, he’ll avoid immediately or when he was caught staring.
And in their little game, I declare it as s tie. The two of them look cute; hiding each other’s feeling from one another.
I felt some one kick me under the table and I look up to see Alex signaling me to look at the table, three tables away. There I saw the basketball team. What caught my eyes was Jess, standing behind his friend and he smiled when he saw me looking at him. Of course, I smiled but I frowned when I saw his girlfriend give him a kiss on the cheek and he circled his arms around her.
Eww. I turn back and grab a bite from my burger when I caught Cris and Alex looking at me.
“I saw that,” Alex said closing the book she is reading.
I shrug. What else I could say?
“I thought those two broke up already?” Monique said glancing up from her phone.
“Those two look like they broke up?” I pointed at the back of them two.
Monique shrugs and continues tapping on her phone. Does her phone have super glue?
“So, what’s your status with Ryan?” Alex asked her eyebrows wagging.
“Nothing,” I sip my juice and to Alex “What’s up with you and Ryan?”
Alex shot me a death glare but I just smile because I want Cris, who is stiff beside me, to know it.
“You know there’s nothing, right?” Alex said playing with her fork “And that guy is the trouble magnet.”
“Who is this famous Ryan anyway?” Eric butts in who earned a nudge from Monique.
Alex took her IPad and start flipping on something, after she was done, she handled Eric the Ipad.
“Ryan is the school’s three point shooter. He is a junior by the way,” Eric read from the Ipad “He is the eldest son of one of the riches businesswomen in America. He lost his father a year ago. The cause of it, mm… he was shot in their family car.”
