Chapter 5 Traveling
I once again woke up in a comfy bed. I winced at my arm. It was slowly healing but I still can't use a sword. I'm sure I could but Aragorn wouldn't allow it. I know he was trying to protect me but I didn't want it. I could handle myself in battle. He tried talking to me a few times but I didn't listen. I was not going to forgive him anytime soon. My thoughts were inturupted by my door opening. Gimli stood with his axe.
"Sorry to wake you lass, but we're leaving soon." He said.
"It's fine. Thank you Gimli." I smiled. He nodded and closed the door.
I quickly changed and put new riding boots on. I also slipped on my purple braclet from Elrond. I wanted nothing more to see Arwen and him. But now was not the time.
I met Legolas in the stables with Rosie. Of course Aragorn was there. I could barely hear a soilders voice throughout the kingdom.
"By order of the king, the city must empty. We make for the refuge of Helm's Deep. Do not burden yourself with treasures. Take only what provisions you need." We had to go to Helms Deep for protection against Sarumons army.
I caught on to Aragorn and Gandalfs conversation at the last minute.
".... With luck, my search will not be in vain. Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the east." Gandalf said. With that, he an his horse bolted out if the stables. Aragorn turned to me and gave me a sympathetic look. I just glared in his general direction. He slightly rolled his eyes and walked out with his own horse.
"We must be leaving. Theoden calls us." Legolas said. I nodded, hopping on Rosie and making my way out of the barn with Legolas and Gimli close behind.
We were trudging down a dirt path. Surrounded by green fertile land, making our way to Helms Deep. We should be there in a day or two. Aragorn, Gimli and Eóywn were trotting in the back. I wanted to spend time with Legolas since we haven't talked for awhile.
"Seriously?!" We were laughing historically. "How do you run so fast and not get your hair messed up? It's not possibe!" I yelled.
"It's quite easy for elves. Our hair is naturally strait and sleek. We all have long braided hair."
"And that reminds me, you have to braid my hair fancy one day."
"Of course. When we get married." He said. I grinned big. We had never talked about our future or getting married. So it kinda surprised me and took me back. I honestly wanted nothing more to marry him and have kids. I always wanted to know the feeling of being a mother.
"Legolas?" I asked.
"Yes?"
"A-are we gonna get married one day?" I asked nervously.
"Isabella, I promise, I will marry you in elvish cloth and gems. You will meet my father and become Princess of Mirkwood." He stated proudly.
"I love you." I said.
"I will love you forever and always." He smily a toothy grin.
We rode in silence intil a worried-looking soilder rode up to us from the front of the line.
"Legolas." He was out of breath. "We need you to ride up. There is something terrorizing the horses up ahead." Legolas nodded and took off trotting.
Minutes later I saw Legolas on a small hill yelling somethig. I cantered up closer and heard what he was saying.
"Scouts!"
