My Affair

Chapter 1

It was the middle of May when I had to partner up with the worst partner, I could ever be forced to work with. Lucas Adessi was his name, and of course him being older than I am, thinks he can take over what I started with my sister. Actually, my Sister, Jayden, started this whole business but gave it to me when she started her own family. So the past three years, I've made millions in itself just running the business for Marina Hotels, But now, I have to be partnered with the richest whore of this partnership, Luke.

I woke up this morning at six o'clock AM to get dressed for this...meeting I have to deal with. I showered quickly and dressed in a black pencil skirt, and a white button down blouse, and a black blazer to cover the tight fitting, yet sophisticated top. I didn't have time for hair,so I tossed my hair with a clip, making it look messy, but stylish. I skipped downstairs to be greeted by my amazing British boyfriend, Christopher who was already up and making breakfast.

"Morning baby! Sleep well?" He asked looking sleepy, yet smiled.

"Just fine...I'm going to probably kill my colleague who is now going to be my business partner..."

"Oh come on...he can't be that bad!...you hate him that much?" He looked thrilled to know I don't like this man, who thinks he does nothing wrong. "How bad is he?"

I laughed "He's a man whore, slept with the whole staff, and some!" I couldn't believe he was joking about this.

"Babe, you'll be fine, go enjoy your day, and show them who's boss" he kissed me passionately as I gave in, kissing back. "Mhm, you're gonna be late if you stay any longer" he smirks
"oh shut up!" I snickered, then kissed him once more before putting on my heels, and running out the door

I got to work at eight o'clock and went straight up to my office to get some work done before I go to the meeting involving luke. Then someone knocked on my door, and came in

"Ah, ms. Novak, your meeting is now at nine instead of ten..."

"Ugh! What is wrong with these people, I have work to do i.... Oh whatever yeah, yeah thanks" I huffed and watched the woman leave, finishing what I was typing quickly to go to my meeting in ten minutes.

I got to the meeting and of course, luke was sitting at the end if the table, smirking

"Well well well...look at my gorgeous partner!" It feels like he watches my every move, but I don't really want to pay attention.

"Oh shove it, you're definitely not getting in my pants" I spat, glaring. All he did was smirk. "Well see about that Ash"

I shot him a glare, raising my eyebrow. "Excuse me? No one calls me Ash, especially you!" I scoffed. Who does he think he is? He better know that I'm not persuaded easily... The meeting lasted an hour and I dreaded every second. Waiting for the elevator to open, Lucas walked up and tried talking to me..

"hey partner, how's it goin'?" He smirked, trying to joke, but I wasn't joking.

"Look, this is my. My Business. Don't think you can come in here, and act like you know how to run everything. Because you don't! This?" I pointed between the both of us "Will never happen. So stop with all the smirks, I'm taken. Second... Stay out of my way" I scoffed and got on the elevator, glaring "Good day Mr. Adessi" I sighed and pulled out my phone, calling and scheduling meetings and regular calls. As the doors were just closing, Luke stepped in, and joined me on my now, not lonely haul to the fifteenth floor.

"pleasure is mine Ms. Novak" he sighed dramatically, acting like a prick. All I did was glare, and knew I was now in a living Hell.
