We got to the school in about 10 minutes. We go to Crescent Valley High School and It's your typical high school with the cheerleaders, nerds, athletes and other cliché groups. We drive into the parking lot and were surprised that there were 4 motorcycles in the spots we usually park in. We're not the types of girls to throw a fit over a parking space. We honestly don't care. It just surprised us since we were the only people in school who rode motorcycles. We live in a small town and we know just about everybody and if new people move into town it spreads pretty fast. Nothing ever stays a secret for long.

Shaking it off we parked in the spots next to them, got off our bikes and took off our helmets. We walked into class and got the regular stares and whispers, some good and some bad. We just rolled our eyes, ignored them, and walked through the sea of students to our lockers. This was an everyday occurrence and we've learned its best to just ignore it. After 4 years of this torture you learn to just tune everything out. It's just easier.

We finally made it to our lockers and started getting our books out for our first lesson. Don't ask how but we convinced the school to let us have lockers right next to each other. Let's just say that it took a very, very long debate. As we were getting our things together we noticed a group of girls screaming and circling something a few lockers down. Curious, we closed our lockers and went to investigate. Hopefully it's not another student being bullied. Ever since we became students at this school we noticed that bullying was a bit of a problem here.

One time we saw a boy from our homeroom class being ganged up on and we had to step in. Long story short the bully left with a broken nose and a black eye and overnight the bullying problem minimized. If it's one thing we can't stand, it's a bully.

Once we got closer, however, we realized it was practically the opposite. It was 4 guys being surrounded. I'll admit the guys were pretty good looking but we were not ones to obsess or gawk over random guys. Of course, the screaming group of girls seemed to not care that they were in the middle of a crowded hallway with people trying to get on with their lives.

As a result we did the only logical thing. We squeezed through to the middle of the circle and I had the honor to yell, "Excuse me! Let's move it along here. People are trying to walk and get to class."

With that being said the girls dispersed quickly knowing that it was best to do as told. Don't get me wrong some students may act as a result of fear but we've learned that many listen to us out of respect. Many know that we only get involved if we are provoked or something unethical is taking place. We have never initiated a fight in our 4 years of attending school here. Other than the detention we earned from hurting the bully our records are clean. Honestly the school didn't even want to give us that detention but they have a "no violence no exception" rule. We weren't too mad about it anyways since we felt that we did the right thing.

Seconds after I yelled the hallway slowly emptied. Now it was pretty much just the four new guys and us. They just kind of stood there shocked. I really wanted to laugh at their dumbfounded expressions. I guess it's not everyday you see 4 girls clear a hallway. With our mission accomplished we went back to our lockers and continued to take out the books we needed. When we slammed our lockers shut the guys seemed to snap out of their little trance.

We were just about to leave when someone grabbed my arm. Turning around I raised an eyebrow and looked questionably at the guy who grabbed me. He instantly let go and mumbled, "Oh um thanks. We were trying to lose those girls all morning but they surrounded us. We're not ones to place a hand on a woman and couldn't figure out what to do." My expression softened. "Oh no problem." As I make a move to leave he once again stops me. "What's your name?"

Usually I don't respond as I'm not the most social but for some reason I feel the need to respond. "I'm Elizabeth but I go by Liz. That's Claire, Dani and Jess." The girls hesitantly wave at the guys, probably surprised that I just introduced us to some random guys. Trust me this is a little out of the ordinary for me.

"Well I'm Jace, that's Michael, Christopher, and Tyson. We're new if you haven't guessed." We giggled. Wait, giggled? Since when do we giggle? "Well... welcome to Crescent Valley. Where most of the teachers are assholes, the people suck and there is almost never anything interesting happening." Jace chuckled in response and I swear that was the hottest laugh I had ever heard. Not that I'd ever admit that out loud.

"Hey do you guys mind showing us around since we're new?" I think Micheal asked. They all looked nervous for some reason and I think one of them was blushing. "Sure," I said once again, earning shocked reactions from my friends. I mean I couldn't explain it but something told me that we were going to be really good friends. "Hold up. If you're going to hang with us, you're going to need nicknames. Your names are too long." Claire stated after snapping out of her thoughts.

The girls agreed and the boys looked rather amused. They agreed nonetheless. I grinned and said, "ok well Jace your name is already pretty short so yours is fine." "I think Mike for Micheal?" Claire suggested. Mike eagerly nods his head and my matchmaker senses went off. They would make a cute couple.

"Christopher is Chris and Tyson is Ty? You guys good with that?" Dani asked. Everyone seemed to agree so I guess we're good to go. "So what classes do you guys have?" I asked to break the awkward silence that was happening. "Um, Ms. Chen for psychology first?" Chris said almost like a question. "Oh cool, that's our first class too. We'll walk with you guys."

As we were walking to class we ended up walking in pairs. It was Jake and I. Claire and Mike. Dani and Chris. Jess and Ty. As we walked down the hall we got more stares and whispers. I don't understand why I was feeling so self-conscious all of a sudden. I usually don't care but walking with Jake made me feel weird. I normally just ignore them but something about today was making me act weird. Something about walking with Jake next to me made me really wish that they would stop.

I think the guys noticed our unease because they all glared at anyone that was looking in our direction. We just met them and they're already protecting and defending us. It felt kind of nice to not have to deal with all of the attention for once. It was refreshing to be able to walk down the hall without being the center of attention for the first time in four years.

We finally made it to the science building. We walked to class and took a seat at the back of the class like usual. The boys sat at the table next to ours. This class was set up so that we sat in groups of four so it worked out well. The class actually went by really fast and soon we were walking to our next class. During class we learned that we all had the same schedule. I'm still curious as to how that happened but I've learned sometimes it's best not to question some things.
