There it stood in the corner of the room.
Destine to be heard.
Some with joy.
Some with tenderness.
Some with beauty, so unseen.
The ivories lay so perfectly still.
Waiting for someone.
Wanting to be heard.
Longing to be touched.
Dance little ivories.
Dance for me.
Sing the song so sweetly.
Bring out the emotions.
Bring out the pain.
Sing to me.
Make me feel with each note that is played.
Bring me into your realm.
It is so heavenly bound.
Let me feel the sorrow of the music.
That trickles from the keys.
The emotion that you bleed.
The expression that you so desperately need.
Take me to the place that I long.
Let me escape to where it is only you and I,
Dancing in the midnight sky.
So beautifully sad.
So tenderly gentle.
Play me that song.
For this, I long.
Flow through my body.
Escaping time.
Escaping hate.
Escaping everything but you.
Don't cry little ivories.
For I am here with you.
I will listen to you.
So sweetly you comfort my soul.
So tendly you bring me to a place of peace.
A place that I can quietly weep.
Sing for me little ivories.
Do this for me.
Do not be frightened.
As I will play the keys.
A little puppet on a string.
I will guide your way.
For you and I, this song we must play.
It was always met to be this way.
You will shine this night.
As you are not a sad little piano.
Your beauty is filled with grace.
This we will not haste.
Rest little ivories.
In the comfort of my fingers.
Let the sound transform us.
Becoming one.
I will be your ivories.
And you can play the keys.
For this is a story.
Of you and me.
Play little ivories.
Play this song for me.
For I long to hear each key.
So beautifully sad.
So tenderly gentle.
Play me that song.
For this, I long.
