I finally had the killer in the chair, knife in hand, a smirk spread across my face. I wanted them to feel the exact pain I've felt over the years... When they took everything away from me. I drew the knife under their chin, and demanded to know why they did what they did. They laughed and sighed as they said
"I didn't have a choice, I was ordered."
I pushed the tip of the blade further into their skin, as I hissed
"LIAR!! YOU HAD A CHOICE! AND YOU CHOSE TO KILL THEM!"
They were going to say something else, when I had had enough. I drug the blade across their throat, killing them. I smiled and was beginning to leave the room, when I looked back...they were gone! I began to panic. I had killed them, how did they manage to get away! I turned around ready to run after them, to finish them off! When-
I sat up in my bed crying, it was only a nightmare. I wanted it to be real, to see the true face of my parents killer. I wanted to end their life, just like they ended theirs. I looked at the clock, it read 8:23 pm, I was late for school. I was late for the 2nd time this week! I hauled ass and got ready. I ran out the door, and was about to get out my keys, when I realized the tires were flat. I screamed in frustration, I hurled my keys across the yard, and threw my bag onto the walkway. After 3 minutes of raging, I gathered myself, picked up my school bag, walked across my yard and picked up my keys. I then decided I wasn't going to school today.
I sat on the couch, watching the second season American Horror Story, when the electricity goes out. I groaned as I said,
"Not again!"
I lazily got off the couch, and made my way towards my basement door. I never really liked it down there, it never bothered me during the day, but scared the hell out of me at night. I rarely went down there, like I ever needed anything from the basement. I opened the door, took the flashlight off the rack, pressed the button, and hesitantly stepped down the staircase, one creaky step at a time.
I felt a wave of shivers go down my spine as I silently stepped onto the concrete. Part of me wanted to wait until morning, but the other part of me wanted to stay and fix it. I listened to the part of me that wanted to stay, it was a stupid decision. I slowly walked towards the fuse box, swaying the flashlight from side to side, so I didn't step on anything that would injure me. I saw shattered bulbs and broken glass. I avoided them, not wanting to get the glass stuck in my shoes.
I finally made it to the fuse box, I opened it with a slight creak of the door, and a few flips of switches, the electricity didn't come back on. I was beginning to panic, I didn't like the dark much. I looked more closely at the wires... all of them had been cut. I really began to panic 'Who would cut all the cords to the electricity?!' I turned around, the flashlight beamed on a tall, dark figure standing in the corner. My breath caught in my throat, and my gray eyes widened in fear.
I wanted to run upstairs and lock the door behind me, but something was keeping me there. I looked closely, it was a boy? Maybe the age of 15 or 17, he was standing in the darkest corner of the room. He was wearing a dark brown hoodie, the hood blocked any light from coming in, so I couldn't see his features. I looked around the room for a weapon to defend myself with, but all I saw was a stick. I decided not to grab it and looked back at the figure.
Hw was literally 3 inches away from my face, I screamed and breathed heavily as he drew his weapon of choice under my chin. I wanted to scream for help, but screaming will only get me killed.I stayed quiet, he then said in a happy tone, as of he'd known me forever...but he stuttered a little
"H-Hi."
I couldn't believe my ears, was this guy Bi-Polar?! I couldn't hold my panic back anymore, my anxiety taking over, and my heart gathering speed. I passed out. The last thing I thought I heard from him was
"PLEASE ASTRID DON'T LEAVE ME!"
I have officially gotten lost in everything I thought I wouldn't.
