Summary: 'Pretending to be good was more draining than being openly bad.'Notes: Please bare with the slower updates - school is killing me
(More Notes At The End Of The Chapter)
The tournament continued and the basketball thrashed all competition, I was only asked to play in the match every once in awhile but after my fateful encounter with the tennis club, no one had requested for me to play; instead when they saw I was to play their bodies would physically slump and the light seemed to slightly leave their eyes, aware of their fate.
The matches continued daily for two weeks until the final came, right before half term when the winners would be sent to the beach for a week, I spent most days sitting in class or riding around the neighbourhood on my bike and at night I would lay on the roof wrapped in a blanket provided by Kuroko.

The days passed quickly, it was like everything was back to normal for the boys, who, with barely a glimpse of Charlie had quickly settled back into their old routines. Akashi had checked that Charlie was still training, sticking his head around the side of the gym door during his few free periods to hear the rhythmic bounce of the ball, and a red head dashing around the court.
Since Akashi was happy, the boys weren't too worried about Char because from dayone she always seemed to like being isolated. Plus they had heard from Momoi's sister that she was going to her check ups and had recovered unusually fast.
However when they started seeing the cigarette butts, collecting in an ashtray kept on the roof; they started to worry. And with every fleeting glance of her red hair and piercing blue eyes that locked onto them before quickly flitting away the sinking feeling seemed to increase in all of them
She wasn't there at breakfast, lunch or dinner and upon noticing this Kuroko and Momoi took it in turns to leave a bento on the roof and in the helmet of her motorcycle, trying to look out for the ghost of the girl.

Eventually the tournament finished and I carelessly fell asleep in my bed, fed up of trying to sleep on the cold, hard floor of the roof, softened only by a few cushions.
"up... Char... now..."
Through my drowsy state I heard the soft words of someone trying to drag me from my paradise and lazily I turned around and pulled the covers over my head.
"Oy Kin we know you're awake. Get your lazy ass up now, we have to go to the grill that commemorates the end of the tournament." Aomine sounded annoyed, as usual.
A grill? So food? Grilled meat?
My eyes snapped open and I sat up so fast my head bashed against the bed on top of mine, causing Aomine and Kise to try and hold back their laughs.
"I'm coming."
I stood up and pulled on a pair of trainers before following the boys to the grill that was being hosted in school, a headache drummed at my temples but I pushed it back the second I had a whiff of the barbequed meat.
I practically ran to the plates where I loaded up my late and sat down on the grass outside the canteen where everything was being served.
Shovelling food in my mouth, I managed to avoid conversing with any of the miracles who had sat around me, sending me glances every now and then. There concern was bugging me.
When my plate was cleaned, I looked up, " I'm a big girl, so stop worrying about me. I canlook after myself."
"The bruises on your knuckles say differently." I sent a glare towards Midorima who shrugged quickly. I tucked my hands in my pockets annoyed at them and myself.
"Look , I'm still alive."
"As much as this conversation is utterly riveting, the headmaster is about to reveal our under doubted victory."
Everyone fell silent as they listened to the announcement, "As usual we had an amazing display of talent and sportsmanship this year and we are happy to announce the team who win both the beach holiday and the private dorms, with the kitchen and swimming pool is.."
My eyes unfocused and refocused as I tried to stay awake but the outcome was too predictable and the pause for drama was going on for too long,
"The basketball team! Congratulations team, as usual you showed that you can play other sports apart from just basketball! We look forward to another year of wins, now eat up and get packed for your holiday! The coach leaves promptly early tomorrow morning."
No one looked particularly surprised and there was a polite splattering of applause, I stood up and followed the team back to the dorm wondering why I was so bored out of my mind and then it hit me, pretending to be good was more draining than being openly bad.

Notes: OM G its so short, I'm sorry I just really didn't want to drag out the tournament.
I do have a plan for this story that I made form the beginning so - lucky for me- I get the weirdest kind of writers block.
Anyway updates will probably/hopefully be more frequent - or maybe not.
NO PROMISES ARE BEING MADE
I noticed a lot of people voting and adding this to their reading lists - thank you to all the dedicated readers out there I'm very sorry for my slow updates.
