I waited for Lindsay to come home before I told her about being a half terawitch and half wolf. She took it well and acted like it was nothing to worry about. Her eyes changed to the brightest green I ever seen with gold flecks in them. She was still beautiful just very powerful.
We still couldn't find her step dad and mom but I had trackers out. Jimmy was slightly scared of her but he loved his mama more so he masked it. Her pregnancy was going along fairly quick but I am an alpha and most alphas mates have pups in three months. They age quicker then normal babies but that is werewolf genes for you.
She was due soon and I took to waiting on her hand and foot so she would be careful. She ate weird stuff but pregnant women do that. I wanted to puke at the stuff she combined but I held in my thoughts.
Four days before she had our pup the trackers came back with news on her mom and step dad. Both were coming to kill my mate and they didn't care that she was pregnant. I went on high alert and stationed more guards to protect their luna. Lindsay seemed to know and her witch side did a barrier on our pack house.
"any sightings to report Sam?"
He frowned.
"no alpha the patrols have seen nothing".
I was pissed my mate was due any day and this shit couldn't come at a such a worse time. I growled and rubbed my neck in frustration. This was to much stress.
"add more patrols and bring them to me if spotted".
I went to leave my office but was stopped by a knife to my stomach. Sam was unconscious by a blow to the head as her step dad and mom stepped in. Her step dads evil laughter filled my ears as the wolf poison went in my system. I was mad and my wolf took over. I growled loud to alert the pack and mindlinked all my warriors.
I got up and shifted to my big black wolf and tried to kill her mom and started ripping at her step dad. I was like a animal with rabies. When I stopped chunks of her family laid on my office floor and I was bleeding bad but they were still alive.
Sinking to the floor I looked around and found my mate staring at me in horror. I shifted back to human and coughed up blood.
Her terrified voice was there last thing I heard before blackness surrounded me.
"please Jace stay awake",I cried as his eyes closed.
