Ricky's POV

I fired off my bow. Missed.

"Dammit!" I hissed to myself. They move too quickly. I need better arrows.

"Missed again, Olson?" I turned to the voice of a man, who thought our jobs were a competition.

"Yeah, why do you care?" I sassed, putting my arrows sack on my back. The sun just peaked over the horizon.

"I care because of the competition," he smirked. I rolled my eyes, thankful that it was still a little dark in the forests.

"Listen James, it's not a competition. You're just crazy," I say standing up. I saw him cock an eyebrow.

"What do you know about life? All you ever do is sit around and wait till night to hunt these creatures down. I bet you've never seen a pussy before."

"What the fuck? James, you are disgusting. Get out of here, it's my space, and you're invading it," I pushed him out of my way, and he scoffed. I followed my trail back into the base.

My job was like no others. Every night I hunt down these creatures, no outsiders knew who they were. But we know they're planning on taking over the world.

They have to be killed with arrows, so every day. Our soldiers are trained to shoot a bow, and master archery. I, on the hand. Have not yet mastered it yet, but I do not like the lessons. I'm self teaching myself, which I'm failing at.

"Yo, it's loner boy," I heard chuckling. I glanced up at some of the 'greatest' archers and hunters." What's wrong, Ricky? Mommy took you're blankie?"

I shook my head," No, you are all just dumb asses." I was shoved to the wall.

"What did you say?" The buff guy spat in my face, I have no idea what his name is. So this is awkward.

"I said, and I quote,' No, you are all just dumb asses,'" I smartly remarked. I then felt his fist collide with my cheek, my head flew to the side. I spat out the blood in my mouth.

"Say it again, and you'll have an arrow in your skull," he threatened. He dropped me on the ground, and gathered everyone up and left me laying there.

I saw a quick shadow move past the window.

I swear. It looked like a creature to me. And why was it watching me?
