Chapter Four: Fighter
My plan succeeded. I was able to convince Nathan to be my tutor in physics! But he only agreed because I told him that I will help him to make my best friend fall for him.
Our first three days together was pitiable. I was not able to seduce - I mean to impress him! How could I possibly do that if we will be studying in the library? Library was the last place in my mind! We need more time together!
"Let's go to my house..."
I dropped my ball pen and gazed at him. "Are you serious?"
He nodded.
"REALLY?"
He covered my mouth and looked around. "We're inside the library... lower your voice."
I bit my lip and nodded slowly. I immediately packed my things and returned all the books that we borrowed. He looked at me questioningly but I just smiled at him and went to the librarian.
He don't have any idea how much I wanted to leave this place and just study in our house or their house.
"Why did you suddenly decide to study in your house?" I asked as we walk to the parking lot.
"You sighed eighteen times..." He laughed like a ghost. "You look so bored and intimidated while answering the sample problems."
He was able to count my sighs? "Are your parents in your house? Are you sure that it is okay with them if I go there?"
"My parents are in Philippines."
"Are you living with your Aunt?"
"No one lives with me..."
"You mean it will just be the two of us?" I asked loudly.
He nodded slowly. "Don't worry... I won't do anything to you... I'll just teach you."
This is it! I'll get to know him better! This is my best chance to be close with him. The best thing is... there is no librarian to silence me!
"Do you have foods there?" I patted my stomach. "The snakes in my stomach are demanding for foods."
"Snakes?" He laughed again. "You are so weird!"
I smiled and said, "Weird but glamorous!"
"I have a chocolate cake." He looked down and lowered his voice. "I thought Yohanna still love eating Chocolate cake but when I gave it to her she said she don't want it and just throw it."
Poor Nathan.
"Did you dump me because of him?" someone growled behind me.
Nathan and I both glanced back. It was Danny. He was glaring at the two of us with complete distaste. Behind him was his ever - supportive - friends. The redheaded guy, John, smirked at me while the other two were flexing their fingers.
"Go away Danny." I gripped Nathan's arm and tugged him closer to me. I know that Danny was looking for a fight and I don't want to put Nathan in danger.
We were a few steps away from Nathan's car when Danny forced Nathan to face him. Danny punched him on the face. Nathan fell on the ground with a loud thud and growled. He swept away the blood flowing from the side of his mouth and looked up at Danny fearfully.
"Come on! Stand up! Don't just sit there!" Danny shouted.
Nathan stood up and raised both his hands. "Relax... I don't want a fight. If there is something wrong let's just talk about it."
Danny scoffed. "Talk? I want a fight!"
"Stop it Danny!" I stood in between of them and pushed Danny backward. "You have no right to punch him you bastard!"
"You broke up with me just to be with this coward?"
"I broke up with you because you are - worthless!"
"Worthless?" he clenched my left arm and pulled me closer to him. "I gave you flowers and chocolates! I gave you everything you want!"
"You gave Selena flowers and chocolates too." I smiled when his eyes widened in shock. "I know you're a two timer Danny."
I clutched his arm and twisted it slightly. When he loosened his grip, I freed his arm and punched his face. "That's for punching Nathan."
Some of the people around us clapped their hands and cheered for more. Danny got very angry and stared at darkly. He was about to slap me but Andrew got in the way. Andrew punched him on his face twice and cursed loudly.
Andrew did not saw John coming. He was too busy cursing Danny when John hit him on his face. Andrew lost his balance and fell on the ground. Nathan helped him to get up but John kicked Andrew's stomach and face.
Andrew was already bleeding and was lying helplessly on the ground. I ran forward him, knelt beside him and helped him to get up. My heart was beating frantically. Blood was pulsing through my veins. I called his name repeatedly but he just groaned.
"You'll pay for this..." I hissed.
"Are you saying something?" John said mockingly.
I stood up and faced him. "You made me angry..."
John laughed loudly. "Are you going to punch me too?"
I shook my head.
He placed both his hands on his waist. "Then what are you going to do?"
"This," With all my strength I made the spinning back kick. I put my arms in front of me with clenched fists, looked straight into his eyes and thrust my leg straight back like a horse kicking.
I looked at Danny and his other two friends fiercely. "Did I mention to you guys that I am a black belter in karate?"
I stepped forward and the three stepped backward. I looked down at John who was coiled on the ground ferociously. "You want a fight?"
Danny pulled him up and asked him if he's okay. John nodded and looked back at me. he was burning mad so I prepared myself for another attack.
"You'll pay for this!" John said heatedly. After saying that, he and his friends walked away and pushed the people out of their way.
I heard Andrew groaning so I ran forward him again. "Andrew... are you alright?"
He smiled and touched my cheek with the tip of his fingers. "You did a great job... honey."
Tears flowed on my cheeks and he swept them away.
It was the same thing he did to me when he broke up with me.
