Chapter 2

I got up from the bed and decided to unpack my stuff. Put my headphones and put BabyMetal, my favorite band playing. I only brought some clothes I really liked, my phone, some photos and money. I was going to start from 0. After that was done and since it was 5 p.m. I decided to get shopping done so I was able to get some food. Leaving with my headphones, I headed towards the nearest supermarket, only to find Kaneki there, buying coffee. I caught him staring at me, with that poker face, causing me to blush a little. I left the supermarket, still blushing a little. I barely even knew the guy but he was actually the closest person to me right now.
I got to buy enough for the week: Noodles, some nori sheets, tuna, rice ( a lot of it) some cheese and juice. It would get me going for the week. Plus restaurants. I packed it up and looked at the map the airport gave me. I needed to get a part time job and get ready for school that conveniently was two blocks away. I need to rest, I thought. Then a brilliant idea came to mind as I heard the door next to my apartment's close.
I got up and walked to the supermarket again. I came home with all the ingredients needed to make cookies! I was going to thank Kaneki for earlier and make friends with the neighbors. I made two batches of chocolate and vanilla just to make sure and put them on little bags.
After making friendship with a nice couple from downstairs and the apartment manager, who was also very kind to me, and getting along with everyone else, it was time to thank Kaneki. Thankful that I didn't had to repeat that I just moved in and praying that it went well, I knocked.
He opened the door with a messy white hair and in his pijamas, with a face I can't tell if he was annoyed or I just woke him up.
" Hello Kaneki-san, I'm the new neighbor, Tomoe, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, but I wanted to thank you for early, I made cookies!" I said while handing him the brown and yellow cookies in bags.
"No, it's not a problem...but thanks. He said almost yawning.
"Did I woke you up? I'm so sorry!"
"You did, but I want to thank you about it, I felt asleep on the couch watching to some boring program" he said, monotonously.
"Oh, I'm glad then" I said with a big smile on my face. I swore I could see his eyes widen, even if for a second, and return to his emotionless face.
"So which one do you want?"
"Which one do you like more?"
"I like chocolate more but, it's you that are going to eat them."
" Then I take vanilla, you can keep the chocolat ones"
Kaneki grabs the vanilla bag out of my hand and throws it inside his house, somewhere that I can't see.
" Thanks...I guess. Well I hope you enjoy them, well have a good night"
" Have a good night" Then he closes the door. I smile to myself and head towards my apartment.
