Why me?

Mitch questioned this as he layed blankly on the ground as a numb pain stung at his jaw. His busted lips and nose gushed out crimson blood, and tears glided down his face. His life had always bin bad, it had always bin an painful memory to live but now it had no meaning to him. The chilling rain coated his body in the bitter wind of the empty dark alleyway. The large island of black clouds floated above him and long streeks of silver hung in the sky like ropes. Mitch felt a another breath choking kick to his chest that letted out a satisfyingly crack. Mitch began to see white stars as loud shouts came from the end of the alleyway.

"A-Adam?"

Mitch began to black out, the screams echoing in his ears like a distant memory.

"What did you do? WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO?!?!"

☆☆☆

Mitch was greeted by a spark of white light as he fluttered his eyes open, Mitch could tell by the white ceiling and the mechanical beats. He was all too familiar to it. Mitch could feel a hand clutching his and looked down beside him, to see Adam. Mitch's cheeks became red and he awoke Adam with a light nudge, Adam froze when he saw him. But the laughs of relief that escaped his throat over powered the mechanical rhythmic beats.

"Mitch, your okay, thank God!"

Adam enveloped him into an firm but soft hug, Mitch felt a wave of fire over come his face as Adam's strong loving arms wrapped around him. Mitch (not thinking) buried his head into the crook of Adam's neck, relishing the warm embrace.

"Yeah, of course I am, why wouldn't I be?"

Adam pulled away from him, grasping his shoulders as he softly massarged them. Mitch forght back the groans that filled throat, the movement sender sparks down his spine.

"The doctor did say you probably won't remember, Jerome beated you up because he was a drug addic and you had a really bad concoction"

Mitch fell silent, he couldn't believe what he'd just heard. Jerome, his best friend, was a drug addic. Tears pooled in the corners of Mitch's eyes as he crashed his body into Adam's once again, and the tears began to fall.

"Ssshhh it's okay, it's okay I'm here"

Mitch stumbled his way into Adam's house, the warmness caressing his frozen skin from the bitter coldness of the outside world. Mitch hung his arm his arm around Adam's neck, balancing his weight on the older American as they made their way up stairs.

"You can have my room, I'll sleep down stairs, since my cousins got the spare room"

Mitch looked over at Adam

"Where are you gonna sleep? "

"On the couch"

Mitch furiously shook his head in disagreement.

"No, I'll take the couch, this is your house and you helped me"

"No, YOU take the bed"
