Brooke looked up just in time and their lips met...gently. It was over before Alex would've liked, but it didn't matter because she had already been closer than she thought she ever would've been to Brooke.
They stayed at that cafe all night until closing time and then walked all over the town smiling, laughing, and holding hands tightly. They came to a small clearing in the middle of a park and they sat down. Brooke was playing with the braclets on Alex's arms. She pointed out two, a light blue one that had Falling in Reverse written on it and a black and white BVB one. Alex smiled, "Do you want them?" Brooke blushed, "It's ok--" She was cut off and Alex took them off and slowly placed them on her wrist. Alex smiled and didn't notice that there was a small space between her braclets where light red cuts and purple faded scars where slightly showing themselves. Brooke saw but didn't say anything. Deep inside they were thinking the same thing, 'She makes it seem so easy to be happy...Is this happy..am I finding happy?'
Brooke was getting tired and she yawned, Alex wrapped her up in her arms and pulled her close to her covering her with her jacket the best she could. She smiled. She had never smiled so much. She hadn't smiled since she was younger, happier. Alex was a sad girl, blocked from the world and locked out using music as a sheild against the awful seething and slicing words of humanity and society. She held a smile. She was good at it.
Nobody knew Alex's story, but no one knew Brooke's either.
Brooke was a lost soul. She has never found herself, and she didn't think she would. A new sense in style everyday...and new hair color or new favorite band, she changed a lot so no one could figure her out she liked it that way. Brooke was sad too. She hid it all good she blushed and giggled, laughed and sighed. She had all her emotions but as soon as one came into play she locked them down and became numb, she never let her walls come down she had spent her life building them, but Alex...Alex became a new story in her life. She tore those walls down and didn't even know there were walls to work against. Alex made her feel safe and around Alex she couldn't go numb....She was scared because of this.
They both became scared of what the other had done..Nothing bad no not at all. It was just new and their lives had been created to a perfect T of how they wanted to be. How could someone they just met make all of that perfect planning be erased? Alex was willing to let the feelings in...To give this new 'thing?' a try, but Brooke wasn't.
--The Next Day--
Alex smiled as soon as she saw Brooke walk into the doors. "Hey Brooke." Alex walked up to her heading to hold her hand but Brooke walked past her. "Brooke? Hey! Brooke?" Alex tried to get her attention from across the room, but by now Brooke was moving even faster. 'What did I do?' That's all Alex could think.
