Oh shit oh shit oh shit

I mutter as I rush down the stairs.

10 mins left before school begins.
It's not like this is new to me. I always run late for school. I'm a passionate sleeper. That means I like sleeping, oh no scratch that, I love sleeping and I take sleeping seriously that if I didn't get enough sleep I always find time in the day to replace the lost hours of sleep, even if it's in school. I'm pretty sure everyone, and I mean everyone, sleeps at school. Who could stand the lectures? Come on! It's not like we will use that in the future. I'm positive that less than 20% of what we learn in school is actually useful. But unfortunately, no matter how popular that opinion is, I'm still forced to go to school. Stare at the blackboard in to oblivion and daydream.

I know I'm running late but as you know, breakfast is still the most important meal of the day. So I ran to the kitchen and grabbed two granola bars that Mom made for me, which is neatly placed on the kitchen table. Oh Mom, I love you. She always prepares food for me because she knows I constantly wake up late.

"Yes sweetheart, I love you too. NOW GET YOUR ASS OUT OF THE HOUSE AND IN THE CAR IN 10 SECONDS OR YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO TAKE THE BUS. 1.. 2.. 3!" My Mom yelled.

I didn't realize I said that out loud. Must be the effects of lack of sleep. I did not sleep well last night. I had a bad dream, like I always do. But last night was different. It was weird, strange, outlandish, peculiar, eerie and the list goes on.

I really hate riding the bust to school so I ran out of the kitchen quickly putting one granola bar in to my mouth to start eating and placing the other one in my bag for later. I swiftly closed the main door and sprinted in to my Mom's car. I was panting by the time I was sitting in the passenger's seat.

"Took you long enough" My Mom said as she sat in the driver's seat.

"You have to stop using that card on me Mom! It's unfair" I said with a pout attempting an adorable face.

"And you my child have to start waking up early" she said while pinching my nose "that pout doesn't work on me anymore darling" Mom added with a chuckle.

"Sure it does, sometimes" I said and I stuck my tongue out.

"How could you be 17 and so immature Lucy"

"Hey! I am not immature"

"Says the one who pouted and stuck her tongue out at me"

"Let's go Mom, we'll be late" I said with my mouth full as I finished the first granola bar. "Thanks for the granola bars Mom, they're delish"

"Anything for you my Darling"

I arrived at school with seconds to spare. After exchanging goodbye's with Mom, I ran to my class. Ugh, it's only 8 in the morning and I have been running a lot now. My first class was History. What a perfect time to sleep.

I went inside the classroom, I see that the professor was not there yet. I spotted my brunette bestfriend, Alliah, waving at me at the corner of the room and gesturing for me to sit beside her. I walked to her dodging the desks and chairs. I am so glad we have History classes together. But that doesn't stop me from sleeping in class.

I slammed my butt on the chair.

"Good morning Luz!" Alliah chirped happily. Oh where does she get her energy, she is always energetic and never seem to tire.

"Good morning Ali" I said with a yawn.

"Oh Lucy, you are always sleepy"

"Hey, it's 8:03 in the morning, who on earth is not sleepy?"
