"What are you doing?" I heard a voice call out behind me. I peered over my shoulder to see Lucy Connors staring at me intently. I was in a guest bedroom on the third floor, crouched over a big bag.
"This is the prank Alex has in store" I smiled. She walked over quietly and looked over my shoulder, her eyes glittering like diamonds. I opened the bag, revealing that it was filled with a chalky white powder. Lucy stifled a laugh, and I closed the bag. I picked up my drink and we made to leave the room when we heard the angry words.
"You don't control me!" The drunken voice mumbled. It was a girl. Her voice muffled slightly. "Fine. I'll put the bricks in the bag." She snapped, and then walked into the room. Lucy and I were now pressed up against the wall, and I had my hand over her mouth. I was surprised by who it was that had been talking so angrily. She walked over the the bag, stumbling as I pulled Lucy from the room, quickly running down the stairs.
"We have to tell someone!" Lucy whispered sharply.
"We tell nobody." I commanded. I wanted to see how this played out. Lucy looked at me with her pale, innocent eyes.

  Then she nodded.

Math class was usually a bore; our teacher was Mr. Warden, a creepy old man who always looked like he was about to fall asleep. But today was different. Because we had a supply. Mr.Warden had some sort of old person sickness, and so we had a fill-in until he got better. The man in front of us pushed his hair back and cleared his throat as we worked. He looked around confidently, as if he could tell that most of us were staring at him in awe. The man was beautiful. His name was Peter Law, the older cousin of Tyler Law, I had learned after a quick text. In his mid-twenties, he was an Adonis, not meant to be teaching. He could be whatever he wanted, so why choose teaching, I wondered. His jawline could cut diamonds, and his bright green eyes warmed and pierced you when he looked at you. Which he was doing right now. To me.

"Do you have a question, Ms. Deluna?" He asked me, his voice sounding canine. If the forest had a voice, it would sound like this man's low tenor words. How do you feel about student-teacher relationships? I thought, but I said "No, sir", and looked down at my paper. A voice like a dying bird stabbed through the empty space.

"I have a question, Peter" Sabrina Willows said, her voice pouring out of her like a fountain. I looked over at her. She was practically serving herself to him, her shirt exposing what little cleavage she had. "What time do you get off work?" She practically moaned.

"The same time you get off school, Ms. Willows." He answered seriously, not even breaking a sweat. He turned and walked back to his desk nonchalantly, as if a student hadn't just flirted with him in class. Sabrina's face turned red, and disappointment ran through her features. Her eyes met mine and I gave her a cool smile. She returned it with a fiery glare. The bell rang and I was happy to be gone, even if Mr. Law was smoldering hot. As soon as I left the room, I bumped into Ruby. I felt a bit of hope and a lot of sadness rise within me.

"Hey! How's it going?" I stuttered. She gave me a scared, empty stare, and opened her mouth as if to say something, but then she just shook her head and with a mumbled "I'm sorry", she moved past me and left me standing alone. I sighed with grief at our lost friendship. What had happened that she had turned away from me so much? What happened to the smiling girl at the party? The crazy optimistic girl that I had known before then? Someone had broken her, and for some reason, she treated me like I had done it myself.
