"Narumi... daddy's off now."

The door opens as he goes out of the room. The little child rubs her eyes and motions a goodbye wave to her father while yawning.

"Bye dad. Buy me some cake, okay?"

Her dad smiled lastly and closed the door.
She motioned for her bed and as she was just about to climb the bed she heard hushed voices just outside her door.

"Sweetie, tell me. Did he threaten you?"

"What do you mean? We might be rivals for a promotion but he won't do that."

"But I saw the email he sent you! What does it mean?"

"Hush, Maiko. You'll wake up the kids."

She stood on her ground and stared at the door. She can see their shadows creeping on the floor from outside her room.

Her mom whispered an apology for shouting and asked if they could go downstairs since they might wake up Narumi.

But I haven't gone back to sleep yet.

She can only hear sounds now and not words. She realized they must be going down the stairs already.

She decided to ask what it was about and opened her door.

"-ected by the Ak--"

"Papa? Mama?"

Her parents stopped walking and looked back at her.

"Narumi, baby. I'm sorry. Did mom's voice wake you up?"

Her mother was beside her in a second and caressed her cheeks. She said it's okay, she was already awake.

She didn't understand the conversation her parents had but she got the feeling that they were talking about something negative.

"Sorry, honey. Go back to sleep now. Daddy's gonna run late."

Her dad motioned her to go back to her room but she only stared.

"Tsutachi, we're still not done talking." Her mom said.

"I'm gonna be fine. Now bring Narumi back into her room. I'll be on my way now."

Her dad gave her mom a kiss on the cheek and went downstairs. Her mom sighed, smiled at her and carried her back to her room.

She was sleepy in a second her mother hugged her tightly while they were on bed.

Papa's gonna be okay. She thought last and then drifted off to sleep.

"Narumi! Yuichi! Don't play faraway, okay?"

"Yes, mooom!" They both replied.

She was playing ball with her brother peacefully in front of their home. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to catch the next throw of her brother because it was way too harsh.

Narumi ran towards the ball, ending up at the side of their house where the main road is beside it. She didn't see the ball and saw a black car instead which is at the park just at the other side of the road.

"Niisan! I can't find the ball!" She called out but still looked at the black car. She was curious as to why it was there and what the men wearing black too are doing.
