Mia looked at what now appeared before her. Everyone had made a little circle around where Bianda had been. Mia felt a lump in her throat. Had Bianda died?
Mia rushed to an open space by the couch and looked down on Bianda.
Her eyes were open, only half, but they were still open. A breathing mask dominated her nose and mouth. Mia sighed a breath of relief.
"She should be okay in about 4 - 5 days, but since it's a new moon she should be okay in about 3 - 4 days. But don't get too happy that her eyes are open; she could still take a turn for the worst." Jessania instructed like a proffesional surgeon.
Everyone was silent for a few moments, waiting for what would happen next.
Bianda's eyes slithered closed, but the mist inside the breathing mask indicated she was still breathing.
"She's going to be weak for a few days, maybe a week." Jessania said a little more softly. Maybe Bianda had falled asleep.
Everyone nodded silently. Rodriguez looked better now, not quite so pale.
There was hope in everyone's eyes. Mia smiled at everyone.
"Thank you. I owe you." She said to Jessania.
"Don't worry about it. Bianda's everyones friend. Better stay on their good graces." Jessania said with a weary laugh.
"Go to bed. You look half exhausted." Mia instructed her.
Jessania sighed. "I wish I could. But I have to keep an eye on -" Mia quickly interrupted.
"No, I'm just as capable as you are." She said to Jessania. Which was the truth.
Both Mia and Jessania's parents had taught them basic CPR and when they were 15 years old, their parents had taught them surgery.
"Thanks." Jessania sighed and retreated upstairs.
Mia sighed and took her place in front of Bianda. There was a quiet knock on the door, followed by it being opened. It was one of their friends; they knew that if there was someone in the living room, the door would be unlocked.
Maurishio came in.
Mia tensed and was by his face in a flash.
"You better have a good damn reason of why you're here." She snapped.
Maurishio looked around at the furious faces and murderous face of Sara. No doubt she would indeed kill him herself.
"I'm here to say..." He was going to say something but stopped, as if he was thinking about the answer.
Mia's fists rumbled.
I could take him out in a second. She thought. There was a quiet moan.
Everyone's head whipped to the place of the sound. Bianda.
She seemed to be trying to catch Mia's attention. She motioned for Mia to go to her.
"What is it? Are you hurt?" Mia asked quickly, starting to panick.
Bianda shook her head and scowled at Mia. She then pointed at Maurishio and hit Mia weakly. Mia knew Bianda would hit her much harder when she was well again.
Mia gritted her teeth and looked at Maurishio. She then remembered that Bianda had telepathy, so she heard what Mia had thought.
Maurishio knelt beside Bianda.
"I'm sorry." He said to her, so close to her that there was a warning growl from the back of the room. Sara.
Bianda blinked and threw a heavy book at her with her telekinesis, which missed. Sara was then silent.
Bianda looked back to Maurishio, signalling him to carry on.
He drew a weary breath and ran his hand through his hair.
Bianda then put her thumb under his eye, where a black shadow loomed. He knew what it meant.
"I haven't slept at all. I was worried about you." Bianda seemed to get angry at this and she slapped him on his shoulder.
She had always said to him that he should take care of his wellbeing first before he took care of hers. Of course, he didn't listen at all. She worried more for his wellbeing than she worried about her own, which was the same on both sides.
Maurishio laughed quietly.
Bianda pulled her legs up and motioned for Maurishio to sit at the end of the couch. He looked at it as if it was going to bite him. Bianda finally got impatient and slapped his shoulder.
He sighed but went to sit. Bianda then put her legs on his lap, signalling that he couldn't leave. She then scowled at everyone, showing that she would be listening to their thoughts. She then sighed in contentment and her eyes closed.
