Bianda opened her eyes and the first thing she searched for was Maurishio. He still sat there, sleeping deeply. Next she searched for Mia or Jessania. When she saw that Mia lay asleep from her and Jessania nowhere in sight, she ripped the breathing mask off. She could breathe just fine.
Bianda sat up slowly as not to wake anyone or Maurishio. She then scooted closer to him and put her head on his shoulder.
She sat there for a few minutes before silently getting up and opening the front door. She slipped outside and saw it was misty. The forest was at its most beautiful when mist lay upon it.
Bianda walked to the forest, her hands in her jean pockets. She walked to the forest and decided to go around to the side. The side of the forest was mostly the darkest and where the mist usually appeared the most.
Bianda was taking a relaxed stroll but felt something wrong. Something wasn't right. Almost like she could hear thoughts that were murmuring. Bianda could hear humans really well, but she still had to work on hearing wolves so well. That was it! Those murmuring thoughts were wolf thoughts! But everyone had been asleep when Bianda left... right?
She ducked around a tree and looking up the path that led to the house she spotted about 4 wolves. It was the path Bianda had decided to take a break from. The front path leading into the forest.
Bianda tried to hear Mia's thoughts. Empty. She was still asleep. That meant everyone else was too.
Bianda knew she wouldn't be able to make it in time to warn everyone. There was a hand on her shoulder which spun her around and pressed her against the tree. He cupped her mouth.
Chris.
He motioned for her to keep quiet and pointed to the wolves. He then pointed to him and Bianda.
She knew what that meant. They were going to take the wolves. They had no choice. If they didn't, the wolves would kill Mia and Jessania and Sara and Rodriguez and Maurishio...
Bianda nodded her understanding.
Take the betas. I'll take the alpha. Do you think you could hold off the gamas? Chris asked in his thoughts.
Bianda nodded.
Chris rushed forward. Bianda thsn realized something. Chris didn't transform into a wolf, but he ran slightly faster. Much faster than a human pace. What was Chris if he wasn't a wolf?
Bianda was quick and transformed to her wolf form. She quickly took the two betas as instructed. She wouldn't kill them, as Mia would want to see who the trespassers were.
One beta down, one to go! Bianda thought. She always loved fighting other wolves for real. Mainly because her reflexes were faster and she could tell what they were going to do next in their thoughts. The second beta didn't take very long. The gama was plain boring. She went straight into Bianda's blows and Bianda countered every move she made.
Chris had taken down the alpha and was watching with a slight smile at the way Bianda handled things. When all the wolves were down, she returned to her human form. The wolves would return to their human form in about a half hour. Bianda remembered Chris.
"What are you?" She blurted out without thinking.
Chris laughed. "A vampire." He replied easily, as if they were exchanging grade averages. Just because the mythologies said that werewolves and vampires were enemies like one million billion trillion quamillion years ago, didn't mean they had to be enemies now. Bianda smiled at Chris like they were the best of friends.... which they were. Even if their supernatural beings were different.
