To say that breakfast was awkward would be the understatement of the century. Thankfully, Chase had offered to sit next to me, but Trent was right across from me. She made conversation with both of them, but I just kind of sat there, avoiding eye contact with him. You could just feel the awkward tension in the air! She ended up asking him if he had settled in well and he said that he had already found his ne favorite place. Do you want to know where that place just so happened to be? THE FREAKING FROZEN YOGURT PLACE! I still needed to tell Chase about that... I excused us from the table as she dragged me to the restroom. Chase and I have this special thing where we can practically communicate through looks. So right when we got to the bathroom, she gave me this really hard look basically telling me to fess up. So, I told her what happened at the yogurt shop, when he paid for me. She started asking me why I didn't tell her about it and all I said was "David." So now we were even. By then we had probably been in the bathroom for 10 minutes. Someone knocked on the door so we unlocked it, and walked back to the table in silence.

Trent asked, "So, what's good here?" and Chase nudged my elbow.

I kicked her in the ankle under the table and kind of rambled out an answer of "Everything, really. Their hash brown and omelet combo is amazing."

He just said that he'd take my word for it and put down his menu. I don't know why, but this kind of made me blush... I was zoning out for a while, completely oblivious to the conversation going on around me, when Chase and David stood up and walked out. Leaving me and Trent alone. GREAT!

I had this gut feeling that Chase left for this exact purpose, to get us alone. Sure enough, when I looked over to the patio through the window, she was staring at us. But David wasn't. He was looking at her. And the way he looked at her... I wanted someone to look at me like that. And frankly, I wouldn't mind if it was Trent. I really wouldn't.

As I turned back around, I noticed that Trent was staring at me. I opened my mouth to say something but he cut me off.

"Go out with me." he said.

"Uh. Sorry but I barely know you." I said, turnning him down without realizing it.

"Fine. Then get to know me. This afternoon. Just one date. Please? And if you never want to see me again after that, then I'll leave you alone."

I could tell that he was being sincerea and I really wanted to go. I was just scared. I'm 17 years old and I've never had a boyfriend. I wouldn't even know what to do. But I agreed anyway, just as Chase and David walked back in. The food came at the exact same time.

"Just in time" I said.

We ate our meals and made small talk the rest of the morning. Trent and I pretty much ignored each other. It was awkward...

Chase and I were getting our money out to pay the bill, but they insisted that they pay. So once we got that out of the way, we walked back to the jeep and David suggested that we go to the pier and have some fun. We agreed that we would go, but we all had to go home and change first, and that's what we did. Only we didn't go to the pier. Or the beach.

Once I got home, I went up to my room and swapped my jeans for white short shorts, my shirt and hair remained the same. I did however put on my swim suit underneath. I decided on my plain white two piece. I walked over to my bathroom to grab a few things that I thought I might need for the beach and threw them into my bag. I went down the stairs, grabbed my keys, and started heading for the door. Right as I was about to open my door, someone knocked on it. I opened it and, to my surprise, Trent stood there with this little cocky grin on his face and said, "Ready for that date?"
