Bianda and Chris walked back to the house to report on the near attack. The wolves wouldn't be up and about anytime soon.
Bianda opened the front door, which was unlocked. That meant someone was awake. Bianda and Chris both peeked inside.
Everyone was sitting on the floor, Maurishio, Mia and Jessania all pacing back and forth in harmony.
As soon as Bianda stepped inside, Maurishio had his arms around her shoulders.
"I was so worried! Don't ever do that again. Next time you want to go walking around in the woods you have to wake me up. Understand?" Maurishio blabbered everything so fast it didn't make much sense.
He hugged Bianda so long, Mia eventually got annoyed and pushed him away. Of course, Bianda took offense to this and hugged Maurishio around his waist and put her head on his chest. She looked at Mia.
Mia sighed. "You can't go running off whenever you want to, you know. You haven't recovered yet," She said to Bianda.
"Well, on the bright side, you didn't transform into your wolf form." Mia said with a sigh of relief.
Bianda felt Maurishio's chest rise and fall in a sigh of relief as well.
"Well, about that..." Bianda fidgeted nervously. She buried her face in Maurishio's chest to avoid the curious eyes.
He pulled back and lifted her face up.
"What is it?" He asked in Japanese.
Mia sighed heavily.
"You transformed into your wolf form, didn't you?" Maurishio asked in horror.
Bianda blinked heavily. Maurishio pulled away completely and walked out of the open door in shock.
Bianda's arms dropped to her sides and she stood there in shock.
"I'll go talk to him." Rodriguez put his hands on her shoulders. She nodded silently. She pulled away and walked upstairs. Her bedroom door was closed quietly.
                         **********
Rodriguez found Maurishio sitting by a stream close to the house, throwing stones and pebbles into the clear but slightly brown water. Rodriguez took his place next to Maurishio.
Rodriguez knew Maurishio well enough to  know that he would talk when he wanted to. If you pushed him to tell you what the problem was, he wouldn't tell you anything.
Rodriguez waited patiently. Maurishio knew that Bianda was Rodriguez's sister; the whole group knew.
"What if I killed her? What if she didn't make it through the surgery? What if transforming into her wolf form was because she thought of me? What if that will break what Jessania had been able to repair?" Maurishio said with real panic.
Rodriguez punched him lightly on the shoulder.
"Dude, she loves you. Even if she dies, she won't forgive herself that she left you. She didn't transform because of you. The only thing you do for her is make her happy. Make her life worth living," Rodriguez explained with pure sincerity.
Maurishio rolled his eyes at the last sentence.
"I'm serious. You haven't seen what it does to Bianda when you guys get in a little scrap. She becomes depressed. She doesn't eat, doesn't sleep... nothing." Rodriguez said with a sour tone.
Maurishio threw another stone in the water.
"Well none of this would be happening if it weren't for me." He said with anger.
There was a quiet cough behind them. Rodriguez looked behind him.
Bianda.
He got up. "I need to go." He said and pushed Maurishio. Reminded him of the conversation they had.
Bianda sat next to Maurishio where Rodriguez had sat.
"I'm sorry." She said quietly.
Maurishio took angry breaths.
"Bianda, I don't want to be the death of you. I don't want to kill you I won't be able to live with myself!" He said with pure rage.
"What if your transforming into a wolf could kill you? Do you know what Rodriguez would do to me? What Mia would do to me? Sara would kill me if I don't get to doing it first!" Maurishio had gotten louder and louder until he was shouting. He hadn't realized that the small stone he had closed his hand on had a sharp edge. A bloody gash appeared on his palm. He looked at it, as if wishing much more blood would come out.
"Oh look what you did to yourself! You shouldn't get so worked up about things!" Bianda scolded him.  She took the bottom part of her tank top and took a sharp stone and cut a piece off. She wrapped the piece of material around Maurishio's hand.
"Come. Let's go and clean this so it won't become infected." She said and got up.
"But it doesn't hurt." Maurishio moaned.
"I don't care. Now let's go." Bianda ushered impatiently.
Maurishio sighed.
"Okay fine." He said and got up.
They were half way to the house when Maurishio spoke.
"Thank you. I love you." He said with affection.
Bianda smiled back at him and gave him a tight hug.
"I love you too. Always have, always will." She said and put her head on his chest.
