A/N- Hey! This is the third part of the Campania Arc.
I do not own Kuroshitsuji, just my original characters.
- Three days later -
I stood with Snake, I had let him escort me to tonight's party. As we were talking about his time in the 'Noah's Ark Circus' he suddenly stopped a look of discomfort crossed his features.
"Look over there, do you see that skin?"
"Ignore them, Snake. They're are just a bunch of women who have nothing better to do than bring others down."
"Yes, it looks just like a snake, doesn't it?"
These women were starting to get on my nerves. I was used to people whispering about me, but when it was as unfair as this, it really made me angry.
"Ugh, when did this place turn into such a freak show?"
That was the last straw, I really didn't have the patience for it. I stormed over to them. "Miss Charlotte, wait!" I ignored Snake. It really wasn't fair.
"I couldn't help but notice that seem you had some sort of opinion on the way that my friend over there looks and I was just wondering if you would like to say it to his face!" I said, angrily, not wanting to cause too much of a scene. The group bowed their heads and walked away from me, but I heard their laughter when they thought they were out of earshot.
When I got back to Snake, Ciel was with him and they were having some sort of conversation "I look different from everyone else, and because I'm with you and Miss Charlotte, people will laugh at you too." I heard him mumble a 'says Dan' and wondered if one of his many snake friends was with him.
"So what? You're another person; of course you look different, what do you need to be ashamed of?"
"That's right, you are the footman of the very distinguished noble Phantomhive family, so straighten up and have some confidence."
I smiled at Ciel and Sebastian as they comforted him.
Ciel and Sebastian turned to look at something, I followed their gaze to see a man lift an empty glass from a tray before walking away. The signal! "We'll follow him, you clean up this!" Ciel said sternly, handing Snake the plate he was holding. I watched snake try some of the cake, a smile quickly spread across his features before following in the direction of Ciel and Sebastian.
"That's quite a large price for a glass of water! Then again that's probably how you qualify to get in." I exclaimed as I returned from a quick change into something I could move easily in. "What? You never know I may need to run from something; who knows what this 'revival of the dead' thing is?" I stated in response to their confused expressions. Ciel was wearing a wig and a bandage over his eye whilst Sebastian, who suddenly had long hair, had tied it back. Me and Ciel began to proceed forwards towards the doors, when Sebastian held us back "The Aurora Society has a fixed greeting those who don't know it will be made to leave."
I giggled at Ciel's embarrassment after we had been made to perform the horrific greeting to be accepted. "These are your membership badges." I took the three badges from the man and shared them out between us. A familiar laugh rang out from behind us "Undertaker!?" Ciel exclaimed, more embarrassed than shocked. I ignored their conversation as I watched a man enter, I balled my fists. The Viscount of Druitt. I glared as he began to make his way closer, Ciel ducked behind Sebastian and Sebastian plastered on a fake smile. He immediately moved behind Sebastian to Ciel and asked if they had met before.
"No! This is our first time meeting. M-My father said that they could heal my eye if I came here."
I smirked at Sebastian's face at the word 'father'.
"That's right, I'm sure Ryan can heal it for you. I'm already looking forward to looking into both eyes."
A shiver ran up my spine as I watched the scene unfold. I sighed in relief when a man alerted us it was about to start.
A few minutes in and I was already cringing as the man known as Ryan Stoker excitedly talked about healthiness, whilst practically dancing in front of a coffin laid out behind him.
"Margaret Connor, aged 17. A young lady who lost her life to a tragic accident. An accident that should not have happened. Ladies and Gentlemen, I will now show the power of medicine. The complete salvation!"
I watched in awe, as the young woman sat up from the coffin and her parents ran to embrace her. Something wasn't right. I sensed no life in her. My awe turned to horror as she began to open her mouth wide.
"Quick! Get away from her!" I screamed, running towards them.
"Charlotte!"
It was too late.
I winced as the distressed scream of the mother rang out as her own daughter killed her.
Sebastian threw an array of knives at her, hitting various vital points. It was no use she simply got back up.
"What is she?" Ciel asked, panic evident in his voice.
Two men began shooting her but that was also no use. They ended up dead in the end.
"You have to smash their heads in to kill them, ya know!"
"Ronald!" I watch as he used his quite strange death scythe to kill her.
He smirked at me "Come on, Charlotte! These are the basics." He began to collect the soul of the mother.
Ronald looked towards Sebastian in confused "He's my brother, you know the demon Grell is obsessed with." I stated.
"Ah the rumoured 'Sebas-chan!" He exclaimed.
Sebastian cringed at the name. "Ciel, Sebastian. This is Ronald Knox, he is from The Shinigami Dispatch Association Collection Division and Grell's junior."
I noticed that Ciel was about to ask him something "Nope he doesn't know any details. We met earlier this week and he told me that they had received reports or corpses whose souls had been collected moving around and doing other weird things. He is here to investigate."
"Well it looks like our only option is to force the answers out of Mr Stoker. Let's go!" Ciel said. I began to follow when Ronald attacked Sebastian, stating a demon would only interfere with his investigation and his job.
"Me and Ciel are going ahead. You can join us, Sebastian, when you've settled your differences." I waved goodbye and followed Ciel out.
A/n- So I finally got my laptop back (the fan needed cleaning) so I could finally upload this chapter. This chapter is longer than what my chapters usually are, so that's an achievement for me (Updating in general is an achievement for me :D) Also sorry if this chapter seems a little rush and things are moving too quickly but I really just wanted to update and I had so much I wanted to write in this chapter and I got carried away.
The picture shows the greeting for the Aurora Society, I personally think it's hilarious, but then again I am easily amused.
Hope you enjoyed!
