"Can you really...help me remember?" he asked finally. She looked straight into his eyes in surprise before she gave him a happy smile and nodded. Nobody had ever given him a kind smile before and he didn't know how to feel about it.
"Yes, I can...you just have to say yes," she replied. He stared at her for a few seconds.
"Alright, but if you try anything you're dead!" he warned. She nodded, still with that smile on her face. She extended her hand out to him. He was confused.
"Give me your hand...you need to remember me and Steve first before we go." He looked warily at her hand and he hesitantly put his hand in hers. In an instant memories of him as a soldier with his best friend Steve and memories of his few days with Lily flashed before his eyes. He scrunched his eyes closed when they were over and held his free hand to his head for the experience was quite dizzying and painful to say the least. When the sensation was over, he opened his eyes and looked at Lily and recognised her.
"Lily..." he whispered before he pulled her into his arms. He felt her arms go around his neck, gripping him as if her own life depended on it.
"Bucky." Her voice was a whisper and he could tell she was crying softly.
"I thought I'd never see you again." Her grip around him tightened.
"I don't ever want to let you go again," she replied. His hand found her cheek and he pulled away slightly just to kiss her. They both poured everything they felt in that moment into the kiss. They pulled apart after a while, both of them breathless. Her phone rang.
"Hey, it's okay, I've got him...can Castiel bring you here? .... Okay, see you soon," she said into the phone.
"I've got so much to explain to you, it's unbelievable," she whispered just before the gang appeared in the alley. This startled Bucky and he pushed Lily behind him instinctively, prepared for a fight.
"It's okay Buck...it's me, Steve..." Bucky looked at the person who had spoken and he relaxed slightly.
"Steve?..."
"You remember me?" Bucky nodded.
"Bucky...you're among friends here. I promise I'll explain everything but right now we need to get back to the motel," said Lily, squeezing his hand reassuringly. He looked from her to the rest of the group and then nodded.
"Go ahead Cas," she said before he felt himself being pulled somewhere and finding himself in a motel room, feeling extremely tired and disoriented.
"What was that?" he asked.
"That was Castiel teleporting us to Michigan, to our motel room," explained Lily before adding, "He's an angel...a real one..." Bucky frowned but said nothing. Lily took his hand in hers once more.
"Guys, would you excuse us? There's a lot I need to tell him..." she told the others who all nodded and left the room.

"How long has it been?" asked Bucky. Lily turned to him and seemed scared to tell him anything. He watched her take a deep breath and lick her lips before she said anything.
"It's been seventy-two years since we last saw each other," she replied honestly. He was shocked. How come so much time had passed, and they were both alive and still as young as they were then? She started to answer his questions without him having voiced them.
"I'll start with me...I'm from this time, I was born in 1991. I'm a hunter of supernatural things...specifically a Shadow Hunter...a Nephilim. That means that I was conceived by a human mother and an angel father. That's why I'm so strong and fast aside from other things. It was also how I found you..." She stopped to gauge his reaction but he simply urged her to continue.
"You believe me?" she asked.
"After what I've seen so far, nothing surprises me anymore," he replied with a tired sigh. She nodded in understanding.
"What do you mean it's how you found me?" he asked, genuinely curious.
"We...Nephilim are able to form a deep connection with certain people, to an extent where they can always sense where they are...no matter where you go, I'll always find you," she replied with a small laugh. His lips quirked up slightly at the little joke. She looked at him intensely and continued as tears brimmed in her eyes.
"I thought you were dead...I watched you die...I felt you as soon as we came back but I had no idea it was because you were still alive. I would have come sooner... if only I knew..."
"Hey, hey...it's okay," he replied, suddenly feeling overprotective. He didn't like his girl crying so he pulled her into his arms, careful not to crush her with his metal arm. She proceeded to explain how she time travelled. Yes, he found the whole story strange but he didn't doubt one word that came out of her mouth.
"Sam and Dean...well, I joined them about a year and a half ago. They're just human but they are also hunters. We had a case around 6 months ago which was leading us to a lot of dead ends. We needed to get rid of a poltergeist - the only way to get rid of a ghost is to salt and burn the dead body but we couldn't find the corpse anywhere. The only rational solution was to travel back in time...back to your time to be precise. My father...he sent us there and then brought us back once we were done with the case."
She took a deep breath as she gripped tighter onto his shirt, "I have to admit, it was the best case ever, because I got to meet you." She lifted her gaze up to his and gave him a smile. He lifted his human hand to her face and tentatively caressed her cheek and brushed her lips with his thumb, as gently as possible. He was so afraid of hurting her or that she would disappear from his sight now that he'd finally found her again. He lowered his lips to hers in a gentle kiss. He let his eyes roam over every feature of her face and brushed her hair away. She looked so different and yet the same. He felt himself fall in love with her all over again. Then he suddenly remembered something she'd said.
"What did you mean when you said you watched me die?" he asked. Lily repeated what she'd said to Steve about her vision and he nodded in understanding.
"You must want to know what they did to you, don't you?" she asked quietly.
"I still don't remember everything but I know that they gave me orders to...to kill people...and I did..." he replied. It was hard to say out loud.
"Hey...it's not your fault!" she scolded, looking straight into his eyes, "You didn't ask for this. You were torn away from your friends, your family and your life. I swear to God, I will help you get every last one of them before they hurt anyone else!"
His jaw clenched as he swallowed hard, "I can't let you do that, Lil..."
"You forget that I'm much stronger than them...unless they have some deity working for them. I hunt more dangerous things than them although sometimes I wonder who the real monsters are...actual demons or humans..." He sighed in defeat.
"I'm not gonna convince you otherwise, am I?" She shook her head and kissed his nose with a smile.
"I have your file. Steve gave it to me so I could find out what had happened to you. Would you like to read it now?" she asked. He shook his head.
"Not yet..."
"Okay...what do you wanna do?"
"I just need to sleep...I haven't slept properly in a long time..." She nodded and moved to stand. He panicked and grasped her wrist. She gave him a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry. I'm just gonna go let the others know that you'll be resting and I'll be right back, with you. You're safe here." He visibly relaxed and let her go.
