Idle Forest

This it my first book I've written so I hope you enjoy! This book is about 2 kids who go on an adventure but start realizing that bad stuff is happening...what will happen? Please no hate and enjoy!

My school has a huge yard. That's because I live in the middle of nowhere. I've lived here for my whole life and I still never have explored the edge of Idle forest.

My name is Jack Carter and this is my last year at Idle public school. I have a bestfriend named Ash who is also in her last year and we've always wondered what's on the outskirts of that forest. I would have never actually gone out there but my future had plans of it's own.

One week earlier, things were different.

"Ash, why do I have to?" I moaned.

"You're the one who picked dare!" Ash lectured.

"I didn't really think you'd make me go up and actually hug Megan McSelly! She's the most popular girl in the school, and I'm not. You know that right?"

"Ya... but it will be so funny," she giggled.

Ash had always had some sort of control over me, it was like she made me do things, and I wasn't allowed to do anything back.

I finally admitted to the dare and started to walk toward my victim. I walked past the whispering, quiet school yard.

I saw the school bully turn around and yell, "Hey Loser! What do you think you're doing?"

I don't know why he bullies people but I think he bullies me because he likes Ash and he thinks I'm stealing her away from him.

"I said, Jack-O-Loser, what are you doing." That time he caught everybody's attention

"Nothing...," I mumbled.

"Huh? Whatever, who cares what you think!"

I kept walking and felt my cheeks blush. I kept my head down and started to jog. I was right behind a portable and was looking at Megan. I felt a tap on the shoulder, and turned around to see Ash standing there, half smiling.

"Hey Jack don't worry about Jason he's just jealous because we're friends. So... Are you ready to do the dare?"

I turned around and shook my head from Ash's mini pep talk. I was heading towards the stylish, girly, gossip queen. I was right behind her when her minion group noticed me. They rolled their eyes and nudged their heads towards me. Megan sighed heavily and turned around.

"What are you looking at?"

Her normally brown eyes were caked with fake eyelashes, eyeliner, lot's of mascara and pink glossy lip gloss. She wore a floral skirt with a crop top, and lace up boots. My initial thought was no eleven old should wear makeup, however, I knew some boys found her hot because of that. I could never, she looked too much like Barbie for my tastes.

"Uhhggg...what do you want, Jack-O-Loser?" She asked in her high pitched, annoying voice.

"Uhhhh, I....ummmm," I stuttered suddenly nervous.

"Uh, whatever, let's go," she said turning around trying to make a big scene, which worked as everyone stopped and stared.

She's leaving!!! What do I do?!

I quickly made my decision and seized the moment. I grabbed her, turned her around and hugged her. I heard an immediate squeal, and before I started getting embarrassed, I ran away. Before I could, I saw her screaming about how "She'd get me back, one day" and I saw a hint of a smile and blush on her heavily covered face.
