[I guess I have to type in capital letters since the others are doing it]
Hi, I'm Lily Roden, the rhythm guitarist in a band called City Lights. We're currently on tour with 5 Seconds Of Summer which, might I add, is really awkward. But besides that, I guess I'm pretty cool.
This is where I tell about myself and shit, yeah?
Okay, I started playing rhythm guitar when I was 11. I always had a passion for bands like My Chemical Romance (babes), Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, ect. But what I think surprised everyone is that i looked like the girly type because I wore make-up and my hair was always perfectly styled but listened to rock bands as such. The reason for that is because I was always afraid of being judged. My parents were extremely religious and wanted to have the perfect daughter.
At the age of 15, I decided that I had enough and told them how I really felt.
They kicked me out the house.
KICKED ME OUT THE HOUSE.
What the fuck.
Anyways, I had like three friends. I lived with one of them named Carly. She was really rude and fake but she would never leave me alone. I'm pretty sure she hated me in reality. In all honesty, I'm fine with that. She dared me to try out for X-Factor of 2010. And I never - NEVER - decline a dare. A dare is a dare. So, I did.
It felt really weird performing without my guitar but looking back, It's a good thing I didn't. It would have been really awkward performing without a band and even more awkward if I went through and not placed in a group. My singing voice isn't terrible but not great. Anyways, I got placed in a group with these girls named Chrissy, Jenna, Jessalyn, Elliot, and Abigail.
And surprise, surprise. They played instruments too! So, we became a pop punk band and I think that surprised everybody. A girl band playing instruments and won X-Factor. All kind of surreal.
As for my personality, it definitely changed. I went from trying to little miss perfect to doing whatever the fuck I want. I finally got to express my love for My Chemical Romance, K-Pop, black skinny jeans, and fast food. My style even changed a bit. It's all really based on my mood to be honest. Most of the time I like to go for the grunge look but sometimes I'll be colorful and then BAM, it's nerdy. I don't know, I'm really fucking confusing.
Keep it swaggy,
Lily xx
[yes, i had to make a cover bc it would annoy me if there wasn't one]
