CHAPTER 1
It Doesn't Mean Anything.....Right?
I wake up in an unfamiliar bed and room. I rub my eyes, then sit up only to be faced with the harsh sun sneaking in through the window.
"Stupid sun."
I don't remember much from last night except that I went to the bar with some of the girls and decided to walk home. Then, I ran into my childhood friend; Jaay. After that, it's all blank. Well, i was kind of drunk last night, so I could've passed out. I felt an arm snake around my waist. I froze. Someone else was in the bed with me. Oh no, what if a rapist or something found me, brought me somewhere with him and had his way with me? I looked down and seeing myself with just a bra on, my imagination got the better of me. I turned to my right to see a guy with short, blonde hair, but I couldn't see his face. The blankets were pulled down a bit exposing his bare torso. Wow, he has a good body. Looks fit. Wait, why am I thinking like this about this guy I don't even know and I just happened to be in bed with? He shifted and I finally saw who it was. Realization hit me as I noticed i was in bed with Jaay Wren; my old childhood friend. Whoa, he looks way better now. Hotter, actually. Rover, everyone called him. I smiled at the memory. My eyes went wide. We didn't do anything right? I felt my stomach churn. Quickly, I ran to the bathroom covering my mouth. As soon as I closed the door fast, while running inside, I knelt down over the toilet to let out my stomach's contents. Man, hangovers suck. I finished, so I wiped my mouth with toilet paper. Flushed the toilet and exited. Opening the door, I saw Jaay was still sleeping. I quietly searched for my keys, phone and shirt. Why was my shirt off in the first place? Well, all I found was my keys.
Ugh, I needed a drink to wash out the vomit taste in my mouth. So, I just grabbed one of his shirts from the closet and made my way out the door to see the kitchen just across the room. I headed to the fridge and checked for something to drink. There it is; a cream soda. Hm...in a bottle. I took it out and drank it. After that, I looked around the apartment. Wow, this boy was loaded. Or should I say man. What does he do to earn this type of money to buy this stuff? I'll ask him later. Now, the clock, I need to know what time it is. I look up to find an analog clock on the wall.1:30! I've got to go, I promised to help my best friend with her wedding dress at one. I set the empty bottle down and booked it to the bedroom I just came out of. I found my phone on the nightstand. When did that get there? Anyways, my heels were next to the bed so I slipped those on. My shirt now. I took off his shirt I borrowed, so once I found mine, I could throw it on. I was searching and searching until I heard a groan. I shot my head towards the bed to see the guy that was once sleeping was sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. I stood up covering as much as I can.
"You're awake." He smiled.
"Yeah, but I really need to go."
"Already?" I could hear a hint of hurt in his voice.
"I have to be helping my friend with her wedding dress. She's expecting me. Do you know where my shirt is?"
"Well tell her congrats and yeah, your shirt is in the hamper. You threw up last night, so I took it off of you for comfort."
"Well, do you have one I can borrow?" I was shifting because obviously, this is awkward.
He got out of bed with pajama pants on. Phew! He went to his closet and reached for a button-up tee. Jaay tossed it to me.
"Here you go. Look, I know this is awkward," Ya Think? "and you probably don't remember me, but can I give you a call later?"
"Sure, here put your number in my phone." I threw him my phone, so I could pull on the shirt he gave me.
"We didn't do anything last night did we?" He gave me my phone back with a smirk on his face.
"Why? Do you remember any of it?"
"WHAT?" I looked at him, was he laughing?
"Kidding."
"You ass!" I threw a pillow at him.
"I had to, you looked so terrified. Can I get your number though?" I saw a pen and notepad on the nightstand behind me. I wrote down my number.
"There." I grabbed my stuff and started to walk out. I turned to face him
"Jaay?"
"Yeah?" He looked back around to me.
"Nothing" I gave him a smile, then left for the big, metal apartment/loft door to the elevator just outside of it and went down to go outside to catch a cab to the Dress Shoppe I was supposed to meet my friend.
Meanwhile with Jaay
He looked at the notepad that had the number on it, but had said something with it.
Call me: 567-8188
P.S. I still remember you, Jaay
Luv, Alex
He grinned. He didn't even catch that she said Jaay when he answered her before.
With Alex
I didn't know of the next encounters to come. He was the one I've been searching for all these years and now I found him. I found my Rover; Jaay.
