Something's not quite right. I strum all the strings again, and pick the D string a few extra times. A bit low. I turn the peg a bit, and play the string again. Better.

I walk up to the mic and tap it a few times. The chattering around the room slowly dissolves into silence. "Um, hello everyone. I'm Alice, and this is a song that got me into music, and I feel like it would be appropriate that a song like that is my first."

I strum the strings one more time as a final check for tuning. All set. Taking a deep breath, I start to play the intro to Sugar We're Going Down.

Am I more than you bargained for yet?

I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear

'Cause that's just who I am this week.

It was the first song I learned to play on guitar. The first time I felt right.

A/N: Hi! This is my first proper story on this account, so why not kind of base it off my experiences? No, I do not live a secret double life, but I largely based Alice's past off mine. You'll see more of that in the next couple chapters.

Sorry this was so short, I just loved this idea for a prologue, and wanted to keep it in.

See you later, alligator!
