Mel's POV:
I saw both of the girls standing at the top of the stairs holding in their laughter. "What happened?" I asked getting a little bit angry. "We don't know. She just freaked out and ran out of the room." I wasn't falling for this bull so I just left the house and got in my car. It was maybe a five minute drive to my house. I pulled into the drive way and got out ."Olivia?" I walked upstairs and checked her room. I opened the door and saw her sitting on the bed crying. I went up and sat with her in her bed. "What did I do to them that they hate me so much?" Her eyes full of tears. I could see pain in them and I heard hurt in her cries. " they don't know how special you are. You're so beautiful and smart and charismatic and no one should ever be able to take that away from you." I hugged on to her and I started to sing to her while laying there and holding her. She looked up at me and I looked deep into her beautiful brown eyes. "I love you mom." She said. I gasped. "M-m-um? You just called me mum?" She smiled at me and moved in closer and hugged me a little tighter. We eventually fell asleep.
Stephens POV:
I had gone out to run a few errands and was surprised to see Mel was already home. I went inside the house and the house was completely silent. I walked into our room and didn't see Mel in there. I checked everywhere else before finally checking in Olivia's room. I saw both of them sleeping. I walked out of the room and silently shut the door. Those two are just about the most important people in my life.Smiling, I went out to buy something, with the thought of Olivia's upcoming birthday. I realized that I hadn't gotten to know Olivia like Mel has. Yeah sure I know her birthday and stuff but I hadn't gotten to really know her. I had to admit that it was partially my fault but she always preferred Mel over me. Well I guess it was going to be up to me to change that.
Olivia's POV:
I woke up the next morning and saw Mel was still laying there. I thought about the events that had taken place the day before and was reminded that I had to go back to school in a few hours. I got up, leaving Mel alone and grabbed my phone. Stephen was asleep on the couch and I decided to sit on the other sofa. Mel came downstairs a few minutes later. "Morning honey." She said to me. "Morning mom." I said emphasizing it a little bit too much. "You know I'm not fully sure if I'll ever not get butterflies in my stomach when you call me that." She said chuckling. I smiled and admired her and her beauty. "Um can I stay home today?" I asked not wanting to go to school and having to deal with everyone. "Okay. But only for today. You have to be able to face your problems not hide from them." She gave me a kiss and headed upstairs. My phone was buzzing like crazy all day. I didn't bother to check it because I had been curled up on the couch watching movies all day. I finally opened up the Instagram app and saw I had about 200 new followers. I had barely made this account and was flooded with requests. When I accepted them I saw people start to comment insulting things. "You're so weird. "How can you live with yourself?" This comment stood out to me the most. I clicked the profile and in the tiny picture I saw it was Sydney. I scoffed at the realization. Not only had she made my first day at school a living hell but she had to come after me on social media.
I put my phone down and decided to make some food. I made some eggs and sat down to eat by myself since Mel and Stephen were busy. Throughout the day Sydney kept commenting and harassing me. It wasn't until after a while that it got to me. She left one comment that I don't know if I'll ever forget. I just couldn't understand where all this hate came from. After all, I had only been to school for one day.
