Chapter One: Peace is a lie

I would wonder how I got here... Or at least back then I would. Now it's obvious The reason im here. Wind blowing in my face, the moon shining down on the rooftop. But the sheer sound of the city makes the scene beautiful.

My legs tense, my heart racing from the anticipation of wanting to fly. AT battles always make me feel like this. I was ready for their challenge.

"You ready to hand over your regalia Trickster?" Their leader asked smirking. He wore a red pair of cargo pants, and a vest that covered most of his chest. He wore a basic helmet that covered his whole face. This was the whole team's attire, I thought it looked silly.

"Not really feeling like it, but if you're good enough to beat me you might just earn them." I said, everything around me seemed to light up with color whenever I talked, it was the regalia's doing, Nobody really knew what it did, but it sure was fun!

"Hmph. Lets beat this arrogant bastard into the ground." A females voice said from behind me. Me? Arrogant! No, really?

"There, there hun, why don't you come over to my place after this ends huh?" I said winking.

She came over to me and hit me in the gut, I didn't move. "Pervert."

"Gosh I just wanted to watch a movie!" I said as if nothing happened, half my face was covered by my masquerade mask, and the other half was covered in make-up similar to a clown. My hair was bright green and spiked. My Grey pants had a few pockets for carrying some tricks and toys. My shirt was pretty basic, it just had my logo on it. My jacket however was the opposite. It was grey, but painted chains that were colors of the rainbow covered it. My whole outfit weighed about 20 kg, but it was the price to pay for being so well known.

"You ready Trickster?" taunted another member.

"The real question is, are you?" I said quizzically, It pissed them off.

"Shut up and ride." The Leader barked, annoyed. A very attractive girl with a green flag walked up and counted down, at one she waved the flag and we all took off.

I rode down the side of the building, my Air Treck carrying me down the glass with ease. The other riders were shocked at how fast I moved, not expecting a Class F to move at a such a high speed. As the concrete neared, I bent my legs and jumped, passing just over a street lamp and landing on the road ahead of me.

I laughed in excitement. I loved riding this fast, my adreniline pumping through me while they raced behind me in dispair. I rode down an alley and at the end rode up the wall to the top of the building. I flew across the rooftops, the wind batting my face and making my long pants flap in the wind.

The only thing that kept me from lifting off the ground was the chains that were flying out behind me, they kept me from going farther than I should alone. Flying solo hasn't always been my slogan, but more recently it had to be.

We made a long jump, they caught up because I hadn't been playing attention.

"Not so arrogant now are you huh Trickster!" Called their leader behind me.

"I never was!" I scoffed. He pulled on one of my chains. "Fuck!" He laughed, but only for a few seconds while I let him hold on.

I spun around and grabbed the chain, tugging it hard so he would fly towards me. When he got close enough I decked him and he went out cold. I Rode on for the last 100 meters to the finish, grabbing their sticker off of mine and laughing in victory.

They all rode up to me afterward, trying to give me a good look in the eye to let me know it was a good ride. Their leader woke up and started talking to his members, telling them how great it was for him to ride with them. I skated up behind him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"What do you want! You going to brag you heartless son of a-" I held out his sticker, showing him I didn't want his group to disband. "T-thank you... but why wouldn't you want to keep this victory?" He asked confused.

"I just want to ride, not to hurt other people. They are just skates, not weapons..." I said plainly.

"Thank you."

-Okay, this is the part where I explain what happened for all of those who have no idea what just went down. (If you want more in depth, watch Air Gear).

Air Treck are Roller-Skates with small electric engines inside them that allow whoever is riding to move at incredible speeds. They can be controlled by how much weight you put on the fron half of the skates. People who ride Air Treck (better known as AT) are called Storm Riders.

Storm Riders battle to compete to see whos best, each individual, or team, trying to reach a higher rank. The ranks go from A to F. In order to go up a rank, you must beat 3 teams in your rank or higher in a row.

In each battle each team has to put up something to lose/win. If they bet their sticker, whoever loses has to disband their team forever. I am unsure if it is leagal to not claim their sticker, but for the sake of the story I am assuming it is.

Regaila are special AT with powers that can improve a riders ability (better described in Air Gear) and are owned by the eight kings. Each king has a different road and blah blah blah. I'm probably boriing you. just go watch Air Gear!-

I rode off with no regrets, it was 1 am and I had school that day. Even though I knew I was going to die in my classes, I knew it was well worth riding that night.

. . . . . .

I woke up at 6:00, the usual time for me to wake up. The school day started at 8:00, but I always get there early so I can get caught up. I walked sort of groggily to my shower, taking a look at myself in the mirror.

I had a rather wiry frame, I was 2 meters tall and only weighed 88 kg. I could see all the bruises from last nights race and yesterday's beating too. But my sisters would never know about the beatings.

"Lucas!" My oldest sister yelled. Fuck, what did I do this time. "You left AT tracks all over the carpet!" She said pissed. I was dead.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck... "I'll clean those up after school?"

"Yes you will! Or I will have your head on the wall!" What scared me the most is that she would actually consider doing that.

Sakura was 18, she worked with a construction crew for a while, now she works for the same firm, but in an office. She took me in when I was on the streets. Her own parents her after her sister was born, so she worked all her life to survive. I appreciated her hard work and her ability to go on. She was an awesome sister, but a horrible enemy and very scary if you used too much hot water.

I did not feel like going to school that day. But I had to. School just sucks your energy out if you, especially when you can't stop thinking about AT and going out to race later that day.

Although there were good parts of school, like the skimpy clothing the uniforms were for the girls, and the teachers going ballistic when I already know the material. (I get sick a lot, so I just do all the work from my textbooks so I don't have to worry about homework!)

"LUCAS! YOU CHEEKY BASTARD! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY BAG!" My other sister yelled at me. They were related, can you tell?

"It's right where you left it Anna." I called. "Dumbass." I mumbled. Anna was so forgetful that she would forget her own name if I didn't remind her. Well maybe not that forgetful, but you get my point.

And just when my day started like normal, something different happened. The door rang and Sakura answered.

"Is Lucas home?"
