"Zepphire! Don't go in yet, dude!" Xenon called out as he secretly pleaded that the older male (in his human form) would listen to him like usual. He did not want Sapphire's brother to see her crying. Of course he would get the wrong idea. That he made her cry!

"Huh? Why, dude?" Came Zepphire's confused reply. Xenon almost sweat dropped, he just rested his chin on his palm as his elbow rested on the wooden table.

"The sprout's still resting and you should not strain her. If she senses you or sees you she might be excited and push herself," Half a lie, half the truth. Lie because there is no way Sapphire was still resting. True because of course the raven-head would be pushing herself since it was her brother. But right now, she should first stop crying.

Right after that statement came an 'Okay' merrily and after a while no one had barged in. Maybe he'll come back later. Anyway, that's good.

Xenon then took this chance to stare at the still crying Sapphire, some of her long, raven locks were glued to her wet cheeks. She was gripping the bracelet tightly between her slim hands as she cried silently, tears just kept rolling down her porcelain face. Her lips were parted slightly to take sharp breathes and her nose was slightly red from crying, her eyes we're half-lidded since she was staring down. She sobbed silently, seems like she did not notice her brother calling. Xenon stared shock for a moment since she did not stop crying. She looks pretty cute while cryi--forget what I thought.. he thought. Shaking his head slightly. Still, the sight of her crying.. made him uneasy, a lot uneasy.

"Hey.." he called quietly, trying to get her attention.

No reply.

"Sprout, what's wrong? Are you hurt anywhere?" He continued to ask, his expression changed dramatically from expressionless to anxiousness.

Still no reply.

"Sprout.. did you not like my gift?"

She gasped loudly, eyes immediately affixed onto his gaze, mouth agape slightly as she stopped crying but tears still pooled on the corner of her eyes. "Of course not! It's really, really great.. really," She mumbled, then she looked down in shame, as if hiding something, as if she had done something unforgivable. This had made Xenon grow confused.

"Then why?" He asked, fairly confused.

"Huh?" Sapphire asked back with the same expression.

"Why are you crying?" He continued, voice softer than usual yet it was still hard and literally hard to read. What was that all about?..

Then he remembered the nightmare. Really? Food eating her? Not believable. No one would cry just because food ate them. He had forget that nightmare Sapphire talked about because he suddenly remembered the gift so it came out of his mind. But now that he had clearly remembered it. He was highly sure that it was that nightmare's fault. Soiling her joyful face into a sad expression. It does not suit her. It does not suit her happy face, her lips curved up into a slight smile or sometimes a wide grin, a sly smirk or a cute pout. But it was rare for him to see her in such a state, and all because fucking food ate her? Nah, she's lying. Consider it guaranteed.

"I... I l-lied, Xenon.. I lied!" She said, smiling bitterly as she said, she almost stopped crying but the tears still flowed down, softly and silently this time.

Xenon looked at her boredly. "I figured that out already, sprout. Care to tell me more?.. and just so you know, you suck at lying, literally," He stated bluntly, leaning back against the back of the chair then he stretched his slender arms before placing them at the back of his head, pillowing them comfortably.
