Chapter 30 - Shock Wave

Keane's POV

"Mum. Dad!" I manged to get out,

  "Shit"

"No fucking way"

   "Hello my darling's, we are so incredibly sorry. Keane I, we..." she came to hug me and I moved back, "Keane..."

"How long have you been here?" Noah asked, "Not all this time?"

   "Over a month now, this is a safe house" Dad answered,

"I can't. I can't do this, I'm sorry", I began to head back off down the drive,

   "Keane, son wait" Dad called,

"You fucking wait!"

  "Do you know what shit he's been through?" Tayte snapped, "What your son has had to fight in order to keep us all safe and find you," he came after me,

"You'll understand why Keane and Tayte are so angry. It's going to be a long day" Noah said.

A very long day.

It was 2pm, we were all sat in the sitting room, it was very tense, the atmosphere I mean. I was angry, I was tired, I was in pain. I know I shouldn't take it out on my parents, but they were alive and safe for well over a month, whilst we were travelling around the world trying to stay alive, collecting clues to find them! I mean, dangerous or not, a phone call to say 'we are alive and well in New Zealand, come when you can' would have been greatly appreciated and would've stopped all the shit that went down!

I knew the silence was because whilst I was being a stubborn child and had stormed off, with Tayte trying to make me see sense, though he was just as angry as I was. Noah and Arii had explained all the major and minor details of the past few months, I don't even know how long it's been! They were upset, obviously, no, they were more than upset, they were teetering on nuclear, upset with themselves, angry at themselves and at the world.

I knew everyone was thinking the same thing too. Who was going to crack first? Because the silence was deafening! You know something else I needed, something for the pain, because it was eating me up from inside out, pulling away my wall, the wall that if came crumbling down would wreak havoc!

   "Keane" Tayte whispered, he'd noticed my jumpy leg, the one not in the cast,

"The walls about to break"

   "Mum, Dad, say something before Keane loses it. The silence isn't helping. Yes you may be totally destroyed by what we've been through, but it happened and nothing will change that. What we need now is for you to be out fucking parents again, because we haven't had any in a long time" Noah snapped,

"Proud of you" I told him, "Love you"

Then everything went black and I honestly thought it was for the last time.

Safe to say that I didn't die, turns out I wasn't even blacked out for long. I awoke around 5 minutes later to everyone stood around me with faces that I can only describe as relief!
